    Default round vs. anatomical implants

Does it make that much of a difference in the slope of your breast if they're placed under the muscle?

I'm deathly afraid of the "half cantalope" "coat rack" look, and I'm wondering if the pectoral muscle would create that natural slope with a round implant.

    Any thoughts?? ???

I have anatomicals you can pm me if you want. As far as founds go, I've seen plenty that had a nice slope, not too much upper pole fullnes. You'd probably want to avoid overfill.

I think it would also depend on how much skin you are trying to fill. A flat chested girl getting round, high profiles will show the shape of the implant more. If I am not mistaken, the pectoral placement for the implant doesn't "change" the slope much, but helps them to feel more "realistic". There is a website that has great info on all of the (they even have a forum for people who have gotten implants and who are comtemplating getting implants) http://www.allaboutplasticsurgery.com.

I prefer rounds because I like high projection.Mine are 650cc's(hoping for 800's) so no matter what, they are going to look fake anyway.

Do you have them placed sub-pecs? What did your doc say about the placing of them? Some docs prefer "normal" placement and some prefer sub-pecs placement. Which do you like better?

VG,my current ones are overs, but I might get the 800's under. My doc overfilled 500's to 650 so after six years I still have no rippling. As far as his say on placement,he opted to place them over because I was going from an A cup to 650cc's,so he said that type placement would make them more natural looking. He also said if I ever got a redo, that it would be OK to have them placed under now for the simple fact that my skin can better accommidate large implants now without them looking plastic like. When I do get my redo,I will request 600's overfilled to 800.

Oh,to answer your last question,it depends on the individual case whether or not I prefer under or over.In my opinion,it's better to get them over the first time, then get them under the second time for more natural look.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. I guess I should have mentioned I'm a small C now. I know that for smaller chested girls, they don't really have enough natural breast tissue to "soften" the look of the implant. I figured that perhaps since I have slightly larger boobs to begin with, the shape of the implant might not be that big of a deal in the final result. Plus, I only want to go about 350-400cc.

And, thanks for that link! I'm gonna check it out now.

Theoretically, anatomicals should provide more natural slope or less upper pole fullness. But I find that practically, they provide more projection in relation to diameter.

Hi everyone. this is my first post here.

I want to say that I got round 460g co-gel HP's put in on march31 FULLY under the muscle via the crease incision. I wasn't to fussy about the crease incision but because of the type of implant and the size , that was my only option. I could have went via the underarm incision if I chose a smaller implant which I didnt want. To achieve a fake or more natural look is dependant on many factors, more importantly your body(breast tissue, shape etc) and also your PS can discuss implant placement with you that will achieve the look you want. I wanted lots of projection and roundness which is considered to be a faker look. I also wanted my implants fully under the muscle for added support because for me the whole idea was to get big boobs and wear no bra or very seldom. Also going completely under the muscle acts like an internal bra which tends to let my implants bounce but not flop when doing physical activity like jogging or sex. Everyone is different and your PS should be able to achieve the look you want or as close as possible. Do your research, it's very important. Sites like www.implantforum.com are instrumental in making an informed decision. Co-gels (available in canada) also tend to hold they shape better because they are not liquid filled. Co-gels also cannot burst or deflate, so thats one less complication that you don't have to worry about. I like it when I'm on my back and they don't fall to the sides. They feel so natural and I love them.

After 2 years of researching this topic and discussions with my PS I got exactly what I wanted. I even went against my PS on implant placement because he prefered the more natural look and I wanted to more rounded look. On a post-op visit , he told me that during surgery before he completely closed in the muscle that I had a natural slope but closed in the muscle to achieve the results I wanted. And I am so thrilled of the results. Here's a few pics keeping in mind that I am NOT wearing makeup. Also in most of the pics I have my arms pulled way back to accent the fake look, for those don't care for that look rest assure that I can look just as normal now that the muscle has stretched a bit but I still like the fact that if I'm trying to get someone's attention (mainly my hubby) all I have to do is arch back my shoulders a bit and they kinda pop out. http://nb25.servebeer.com/resist/rmi1.htm due to traffic limitation I might have to pull my site off so please don't trash it hehehehe. If any one is interested in seeing my BA before and after progress pics feel free to PM me.

I have been toying with the idea of dancing in the last month or so which brings me to this site. I just had a child dec28/2003 and had my BA mar31 2004 and after so many years with no breasts and feeling inadequate, I am finally starting to feel more confident. I want some honest comments. After looking at my pics do you think I have the body to be successful at stripping? I know my hubby likes my fake look but do guys in general go for the fake look or should I tone it down a bit and look more natural?

Thanks Nichole for the compliments. I might try out on amateur night. I'm sure with a few drinks I could overcome any lack of confidence

Many doctors I spoke with before my surgury two years ago said they were moving away from anatomical implants. There is always a chance that they will flip over, leaving the implant upsidedown, and the trend has been moving away from them. You can still get a nice slope with rounds using a normal projection implant, without having to add an additional worry to the already long list of capular contracture, infection, rupture, etc.

I have smooth saline rounds & I hate them. Not everyone is the same though, but mine look like flat pancakes on my chest. It's better than nothing though & everyone think they look pretty decent in clothes, but I hate them. Plus I have to get a redo bc I have a slight problem on my left. I decided to get cohesive gels High Profiles underneath the mucsle for my second job. High Profiles give you more slope projection/upper fullness.

    Good luck with your decision.

Vyanka , I have 460g co-gels HP's. The biggest co-gel HP that Inamed make is 525g and I should have gotten them. I was terrified of the letter D and thought I'd be huge and went conservative but in hindsight 6 months later I should of went to the 525g. 525's would have given me a little bit more cleavage as I find they are not as close together as I would have like but still love them to death. I've found since I has gotten them that you can hide them pretty good or make them very noticable depending on my mood. HPs are not as wide and much more projection and less under your arms than the regulars rounds. You will not regret going with co-gel HPs. Good luck with the re-do.

Thanks honey! What size are you now? I'm a regular C. I have 325 cc in mine. I should've went more too to be a baby D & I too thought it would look rediculous bc i'm 5feet tall & 95 lbs., but it would've looked so much better & fuller. You can't tell when i have on clothes, i still have to wear like a push up padded to get that look i want. But if i put more saline they would've been harder than they already are. Hate saline.

The only good thing I like about mine now is that they are very close together, i have no gap. i'm hoping with the next style i get they will get just as close too.
