    Default Update: the never ending "BIG SALAD"

    So I can no longer find the post I did in relation to the salad question (yes, I did a search.. ) oh well...

    but, I just wanted to state something I've noticed. I have been eating nothing but salad and selected fruits now for almost six weeks.. keeping my diet clean and I've noticed a huge change.. pretty damn good.. plus, now, when I eat a lot of junk, I feel sick.. and when I say Junk, I mean carbs.. I am eating carbs.. potatoes, and whole grain breads, but I find that I am full faster and I no longer crave the bread as much.

    But can I just say, "I AM SICK OF SALAD!"

    If you are looking to eat mostly salad-ish food, but are getting bored with the same old thing on your plate, I HIGHLY suggest you get this book! It's the BEST in the whole wide world.

    I dont know if your diet lets you have dairy,but like cottage cheese in salad or maybe salsa.Maybe that could change it up a bit.

    hi.. I have that book!
    It is very very inspiring.. everything really looks good and the writer looks like the epitome of health

    but ive had alot of problems making the things
    I did make the fruit salad and it was great

    the thing is.. most recipes call for 2-3 mini recipes
    such as one recipe will require chutney
    so you gotta go make the chutney
    then you have 3 things you gotta make to just make one thing
    not a big deal
    but since its RAW it doesnt "keep"
    so i feel i have alot of wasted food and alot of money spent for one thing because its all good quality stuff and sadly organic good for you stuff cost more

    I DO want to eat like this more
    if you have any ideas.. id love to hear them

    I have that book too. A lot of the recipies are very complicated and call for like 20 ingredients. There are some better ones out there. There's a website called living-foods.com that has a lot of easy, free recipies. I too notice I feel amazing if I do fruits and veggies exclusively for a while...

    I have found that avocados cut up in salad, or making fresh guackamole and eating it with chips or flax crackers is good. The fat in the avocado is great for me and fills me up for a long time.

    To spice up your salad try using cut up fresh mango, raisins, or apple slices.



    Guackamole recipe.

    2 ripe avocados - mash with fork

    ADD - juice from 1/2 lemon or lime
    1 tomato cut up
    1/3 onion cut up
    2 cloves garlic minced
    salt to taste

    refridgerate for at least 1 hour

    add cayenne pepper to taste if you like spicy

    Try making some raw soups. I make this great tomato soup and great raw gaspacho, it's delicious
