    Default Revlon Illuminance Creme Eyeshadow

Hi Everyone... well for the second time I am buying one of the 4 shade palettes of the Revlon Creme Eye Shadow. The first time I bought it I couldn't seem to get the hang of it. It would either crease and wear off or it would run my eyeliner. I've noticed a couple of girls at my club wearing these and I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on a good strategy of application - ie... what to use to apply it, methods for keeping eyeliner looking good, etc.

Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

I haven't used the Revlon creme shadow. Does it dry eventually or does it just stay creamy?

Well the one I had before stayed creamy. but i've known girls who danced and wore it and it lasted pretty much all night - so i'm not sure if there is some trick to it.

Do you use MAC at all? If so, have one of the reps demo some MAC paint for you next time. I love working with paints but they can be tricky because they dry so fast. You have to blend blend blend very quickly. But omg when it dries it stays until you wash it off.

I've passed out with full clown makeup on to have my eyes looking as colorful as when I, uh, went to "sleep"

Or maybe you could try patting down your revlon creme with a powder shadow of a similar color?

Regardless, when I work with paint I apply with a flat eyeshadow application brush, quickly followed with a circular blending technique along the crease with my eye blending brush.

I don't know I wore the eyeshadow to school tonight and it just feels like I've got lipstick on my eyes. And this stuff was one of Allure magazines hot picks??

    Hmmm

I used to be a makeup artist for years.

My suggestion- wear a nice matte foundation under the eyes for holding power.

Apply powder lightly on your eyelids.

Apply eyeshadow. Be careful... it can "grab" onto the powder. Start with the lightest color (highlight on the brows) and then apply the base color(all over lid). Layering color is more important with creme formulas. Layer other colors over the base color.

You can (if they feel greasy) pat them down with colorless powder on top for extra staying power.

As for the eyeliner, you want to go over the line (if you're using pencil) with a powder of similar color, especially if you're using any creme eyeshadow.

Hope that helps. PM me if you want to.

I love the colours and the blendability. I wear a nutrel powder base underneath. I do check it every four hours or so. They are easy to pack and touch up w/ your fingers. I am not really into extreme bright or dark shadows, but with this brand I am able to experiement because of their versatility.

BTW, I just use my fingers.

    Cheers,

okay well I'm going to try and wear it tonight at work - wish me luck!

But I also bought some liquid eyeliner - which I never use! But do any of you know if it's have more staying power with the creme eyeshadow than the pencil eyeliner?

I am hoping sombody else has tried this so I don't have to find out the hard way if it doesn't work!

Personally, I hate that stuff. It stays creamy, it runs, it creases etc.. which is why (TA-DA) I got on the MAC wagon.... haven't done the paints but I haven' t had any problems with my eye shadow looking messy.

Update to add: I prefer liquid eyeliner when I am working, it stays longer, doesn't smudge, but it will take some practice to get it down right... once you have it, its a piece of cake... I use the one from MAC and it works great. Prior to that one, I used Revlon's Colorstay and it was good too.

I use this myself but I also use a base color(cream not powder) before I put the cream shadow on.....this way it stays on all night.Try using a sliver base (works for me and im dark skinned) hope this helps you honey

Thanks girls for the advice. I wore my creme eyeshadow last night to work. I applied foundation and then a light powder on my eyes first. I also used my liquid eyeliner for the first time, which made a good look considering the pencil liner tends to look smokey with the creme shadow. I reapplied a couple times during the night but it was quick and easy. A couple of people complemented my eye makeup too! It has a different texture to it so i think it all together helps to create a different look.

But thank you girls - I love you and all of your make up advice!!

And I'm still trying to find a f**king MAC store in Maryland!!!(I just moved here)

I've seen girls put their make-up on wait till it sets for a second and then they would close their eyes and then spray hairspray to set the make-up so it wouldn't run. I tried it but it works best if you wear nice quality glitter eye make-up.
