Okay, so today I auditioned and got hired at one of the nicest clubs in the area. They want me to work day shifts, Monday Tuesday Wednesday. So I went in today and it was pretty slow, being a Monday day shift. My total take-home was $31; actually, it was originally $56, but another girl let me borrow her gown (I didn't know we needed to wear gowns on the floor and didn't have one). I broke the strap on it. Just before I was going to tell her, she offered to sell it to me for $25; at that point I was obligated, I thought, because I broke it. Plus, it's a nice gown, and won't be hard to fix. I just felt so out of place there, though! I have much more of the "girl next door" look than anyone else in the club, and most of the guys didn't seem to be digging on that. Here's the thing: there's this other club I want to try out at as well. It's much smaller and doesn't have nearly the publicity that the big club does, but it seems to be a much more comfortable environment. I was originally going to audition there tonight; I didn't count on the first club keeping me for the evening. So I'm going to work the rest of my shift this week (I only have one more shift, and it's tomorrow) and see how it goes. I'm just wondering if, being more of the "plain jane" stripper, I might have more success at a smaller club than a big showbar. Sorry this is so long and rambling; it's been a long time since I've had to dance 7 1/2 hours straight.![]()

I was also infinitely more comfortable; I still didn't make great money, but I didn't do bad for my second night on a slow Tuesday.
