    Default Classical/Electronica Mix?

Can anyone point me to some Classical/Electronica music? A la Saturday Night Fever's "A 5th of Beethoven" but more contemporary?

I've already found Bond and a couple tracks off the Rhythmic Fission CD but I'd really like to know if there's more out there!

    Thanks!

I'm loving your recommendations! I'm also looking for more upbeat/mainstream stuff for work. Like Bond, Planets, Vanessa Mae.....

I don't know a whole lot about 'em..... don't know if you do either, but one of the best shows I've ever been to (very irreverent! LOL) was Pigface. I don't own any of their stuff but that concert was MEMORABLE. I'd wouldn't hesitate in going again, not one second.

I am using a techno mix of Carl Orff's "O fortuna" for one of my acts. Go to Limewire.com and type in o fortuna and some selctions will come up as the techno version - it's ace.

If you want similar but with an opera edge, try "Fans", Malcolm McLarens late '80's masterpiece which faithfully reproduces and samples about 6 or 7 opera classics.

There is a very good techno version of the "Firebird Suite', but I don't know who does it yet, we got it off of Kazaa and the artist wasn't listed.

I was quite intrigued with the idea of classical redone techno style, as I love techno and want always to push the limits with the stage show, so I tried searching a lot for this stuff about a year ago.

"Firebird Suite" was the only thing I could turn up that wasn't way too housey or schlocky sounding.

I will be looking for these other artists, hopefully they will be better.

Ok - After a few days of hunting down a bunch of this stuff, I've found...

    Bond - 4 CD's - Classified, Shine, Born & Remixed

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...classical&n=85

I bought Classified. High energy. Some songs better than others but definately appealing enough to be worth the money.

    The Planets - Classical Graffiti

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...classical&n=85

Produced by the same guy as Bond.

    Vanessa Mae

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/se...489905-8078419

I bought The Violin Player & Storm. Some songs are hokey and some are AMAZING. I love her version of the CanCan.

    Well, damn...

Very impressive research you've done there.

Have you ever considered becoming a DJ?

Hell no. I can't talk the talk worth a damn! Tell me to get onstage and take my top off.... fine. Hand me a microphone, hide me away and tell me to introduce a girl... that ain't happening.
