I agree w/ Nina Daisy .....it IS the guys that ask and think were just sluts hard up for money....that keep asking you and dont stop. Those are the things that make the job unpleasant. On the other hand someone said up there that thats what comes along w. the job description.
But I think the best way is the charging soooo much for dinner they wont want to pay sometimes a simple "no thanks" isnt enuf.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHH..................I get it now! (I have this vision of a small candle being lit inside Homer's brain for some reason).

So it's the schlups who actually ask. The rest of us decide to keep our mouths shut like good little boys.

Okay I'm all caught up now, everybody!

MojoJoJo, just because we act like an attractive, fun, person who likes to act sensual around you [and I mean "you" in general, not "you" specifically] as a job doesn't mean we want to do it in our free time for nothing. Yeah, sometimes you do meet someone you really connect with. I'd say most of the time the dancer is feigning that connection - and definitely her just saying "Hi, nice to meet you, where are you from/what's your favorite tv show etc etc?" the first time you meet her does NOT constitute really connecting. She isn't the woman in a random bar who is trying to find someone to go on a date with - most of the time she already HAS a boyfriend or husband.

It's not really easy to explain, but is definite and not dependent on whether or not the guy is nice or mean or cute or "her type."

<sniffle> you mean...I'm NOT DIFFERENT???

Kidding....I get it now...honest. I realize it took some beating about my face and neck with a baseball bat. Initially I just took it as "Gee I wish I wasn't so popular." I understand now...truly

Considering that I'm a travelling dance - that works to my favour. I tell them that I'm only here for (time period) and that the ONLY way they will see me is at the club.

For instance, when I worked in Rockhampton I would have Sun-Tues off (working Wed-Sat). Due to not being a local I would say that I was going sight-seeing with a friend who is a local (lie) on my days off so I didn't have time to see anyone anytime outside the club. Plus I would add on top of that some b-s about that I signed a legally binding contract that I would not socialise outside the club with people who had been patrons of the club.

When the approach me with the "they won't know" line (or similiar) since Rockhampton is a small town.. I basically came back with "(Town) is a small town. It would be known..." or other BS such as a short story how another dancer had recently been fired due to being caught socialising outside the club.

Regardless, I usually take the legal approach and stick to it.

Or else... "That's like ordering Red Rooster at McDonalds!" (Red Rooster is similiar to KFC)
