Default What were your favorite toy(s) as a child?

I've been playing w/ my daughter a lot lately, and she's at the age where she's really engaging in play WITH me, which is really cool. Anyway, yesterday I was remembering back to when I was around 5 or 6, and my mother bought me this little kithchen that had a stovetop, a sink that water would actually come from the faucet, ect. Out of all the toys I remember, this one was one of the top on my list. Actually, this is one of the few things I remember before the age of nine. There are a few more on my list of favorites, I'll list as I think of them. I was wondering what everyone else remembers as thier favorite toy(s).

Last night I spent some time on line trying to locate a sink that will run water for my daughter, so far no luck. The toy makers seem to be more centered around creating realistic sounds these days.

I was almost born on a horse! So my mother was always buying me Breyer horse collection.

I still have them to this day! Some have broken legs and such now, but i have a total of 85! All colours, and poses. Some made in the early 60's and 70's on up. They all have names, and i can remember almost 30% of the names. Gosh my barbies used to ride them...

    Damn.. Let's see...

    1) The Incredible Hulk Big Wheel that originally wasn't mine. I beat my little brother up and claimed it as my own.. heh

    2) My Barbie Dreamhouse... I built it myself and my older sister picked on me calling it "The Leaning Tower of Pisa", because it was all lopsided.. lol

    3) Slip & Slide baby!!

    4) My Easy Bake Oven!

    5) This wasn't mine, because unfortunately we didn't have them back then.. But, for my older daughter's birthday one year, someone had gotten her the Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Maker. Anyone ever have ice cream made from that? Woot! It rocks. lol

The Incredible Hulk rocks. My mom bought me the underoos (sp) because I loved the show so much, even though they were for little boys instead of litte girls. I think I also recall a Halloween costume as the Incredible Hulk.

I remember a childs version of D&D, a board game of sorts that I really liked, and another game called Dark Tower?I had a lot of Barbie stuff, but she really wasn't my all time favorites. I also really liked the whole Strawberry Shortcake Gang. We always made Apple Dumpling the naughty one.

My all-time fav playthings as a child were:

    * Barbie (of course... in this case, Perfume Pretty Barbie that came with a cheap bottle of perfume that smelled like alcohol )

    * My Little Pony!!! (Remember Lickety Split?)

    * JEM (the punk version of Barbie) AND THE HOLLOGRAM DOLLS! YES!

Ah, the 80s! Truly a grand era!

Sit 'n Spin.... lol. I say that when I give someone the middle finger.

Ummm, my fave toy was this doll I carried around for years. She had a plastic face and soft body and I carried her for so long that eventually her head fell off. hee hee. She's still around here in a box somewhere.

We played with dirt and shovels, we tried to dig to China.... we never made it. We played with the little rocks in a friends driveway.... searched for fossils and actually found some!!! We played with weeds, if you pull them out of the ground with the dirt attached you could swing them around and around then release them, they'd fly thru the air and explode when they hit the target. We played with big wooden crates from a glass company down the alley, that stopped when we dis-assembled a crate in the alley and the cop who lived next to us got a flat from the nails. We played with matches, actually made little firework bombs out of them. I played doctor with a girl who was a little older once, it was her idea, I was maybe 7, she was 10? .... that was way fun.

    I think I was a bad boy.

Do you girls remember Spectra? She was this hot metallic pink and she was jointed so you could position her anyway you want ? She was Ken's favorite girl, if you catch my drift
