Default What are the basic outfit/clothing items/accessories every stripper should have?

    Hi there girls!

I have a question for you guys and I'd appreciate any insight you guys (veterans and newbies or anybody else) could shed on this. I am newbie dancer thinking of booking a two week dancing stint which will comprise 12 days of dancing for 8 hours each day next week.

What I need to know is how many outfits am I going to need? (It's a topless stage place by the way). How many thongs should I buy? How many dresses? I'm planning on only buying one pair of shoes, the classic clear 6 inch platform shoes which I will wear with everything. I'm on a tight budget but I don't want to get cheap things that I will not feel sexy and confident in.

If anybody could point me in the right direction and tell me what are the basics every stripper should have, how many of each one should have, and where I can find them at good prices, I'd be delighted!

    Thanks,
    Pinky

Since you're on a budget I'd say that at MINIMUM you should buy 2 black thongs and 2 white thongs. (Black and white go with anything and if you get two you'll still be set if anything happens to one of them.) You said you're getting clear shoes, so you've got that covered. I'd just buy two or three outfits to start out with. You can get more after you start making some money. It depends on what kind of club you work at, but I'd get one long dress(gown) and one short fun dress, and a booty short outfit or bikini outfit.

    Advice for Clear Shoes:
Put ankle weights on & practice walking around your house in your shoes. This will make it easy as pie to walk in them at work. Practice on a hardwood floor & carpet. Also taking them outside & rubbing the bottoms on concrete helps them have better traction. Don't lotion your feet before you put them on.

I think you only really need one outfit to begin with. I only had one outfit for the first couple of months before I decided whether I was going to stick around or not.

I am not sure what sort of things dancers at topless clubs wear, do u get down to just a thong/g-string?

If so I would definately have a few that u can change into during the night in case one gets really dirty. I wear a white one usually which I have to change half way through the night coz our pole is always covered in everyones fake tan so I end up with brown stains all over it.

You are smart to get the clear shoes as they will go with everything.

Get a bikini - I find them much easier to remove than a bra as you can just pull the string or clip at the back. I wore a bra for my first couple of shifts and found myself very ungracefully struggling to get it off.

    Accessories:

    - Q-tips
    - baby wipes
    - deodorant (get a clear one that won't leave white marks on your skin)
    - talcum powder (put this in the soles of your shoes to stop them getting really sweaty and stinky)
    - toothbrush and toothpaste, breath mints
    - tampons
    - make-up
    - moisuriser
    - tweezers
    - cheap jewellery such as earrings, necklace - I personally dont wear rings coz I do a lot of pole work. I would not wear any of my real jewellery to work as I always loose the cheap stuff. I lost another earring last night!

    - padlock for your bag if the club doesn't provide lockers

I suppose it depends on what your definition of a "tight budget" is...
Are we talking under $100? In that case you can usually buy some cute and really cheap pre-packaged outfits by companies like Leg Avenue that are $20 roughly a piece...they have everything from tube dresses to cute little bikini type 2 pieces and even some theme type outfits. The quality isnt top notch, but you get what you pay and at $20 a pop you cant go too wrong. Personally I dont care for bikini's, they seem too ordinary and I prefer to stand out alittle more but alot of people pull them off quite well. I like a nice themed outfit or a little black dress type number, both are pretty tried and true. Go to any porn store like Priscilla's and they will have more outfit options than you can shake a stick at...

Go to an adult store, like echo said, you can find cute, cheap (13-30 dollar) clothes. I've bough some from Dreamgirls' Tease, and Leg Avenue. They usually have a big selection too. The adult stores in my area (Pricilla's) also stock stripping gear like a regular clothing store would (although those tend to get pretty expensive...I saw a really cute yellow dress that would have been the bomb on me...had it not cost 70 bucks...it wasn't quite worth 70 bucks).

1 bikini or little outfit or dress (depending on the type of club) 1 pair of clear shoes, and 2 thongs in a basic color (black)

you don't need a ton of shit, espically b/c your stripper style will likely change a lot over the course of our first few months.

    Princess' Start Up Kit

    Clear Plastic Shoes
Non-Slip Grips for the bottoms of said shoes.

A white thong, A Black Thong, A Flesh Colored Thong

Enough make up so that you can do a professional looking face
*concealer, foundation, at least 5 eyeshadows that match each other, lipsticks, blush, lipgloss, lip liner and eyeliner and mascara that all goes together*

A 2 piece outfit, either booty shorts or a skirt set
A long gown in case you need one. You can get a cheap one that is slinky and black from Leg Avenue for like 20 - 30 bucks... or buy a used one that looks good on you.
    A mini dress

    A garter and a purse
(garter wrapped around ankle is great place to store money and cuter than around your thigh. Purse is for smokes, lipgloss, etc)

    Body Splash
    Deoderant
    BABY WIPES
    cue tips.
    mouthwash
    Toothbrush/paste/floss

And most of all pack a good attitude and a bright smile.

i am on a tight budget too, so i wear a lot of simple outfits that have interchangable pieces. i have black and white bikini tops, black and white skirts, a red plaid skirt for when i'm feeling like a schoolgirl, basic thongs in all different colors (you can NEVER have too many thongs) and some different kinds of thigh-high stockings (stockings are a must for me, because i have ugly, scarred up legs). i also have a few matching booty short set and top sets that i got for like $20 a peice. i have enough combinations to wear for like 2 weeks, but i don't really have that many outfits... you know? definitely get stuff that easily matches with other stuff. and don't forget to have one fancy gown, and one cute little tube dress. i would suggest having a pair of black shoes AND clear shoes, but it's up to you. you will need a garter to put your money around your ankle, or one of those little zipper pouches that are designed for strippers money. i would suggest carrying a purse to store lipgloss, breath mints, cigs if you smoke, a small bottle of perfume, a little comb for your hair, and a compact for your face. this will save you a lot of trips to the dressing room!!!

i've found that places like priscillas and adult novelty stores are kinda pricey, with two-peice sets running you around $50 and dresses running you up to $100. sometimes i buy stuff from there, but only if the outfit is AWESOME. i usually shop at a store called deb, check out www.debshops.com or maybe there is one in your local mall. a lot of the peices i wear are actually parts of bathing suits that i bought from there. they also have extra short skirts, dresses, garters, cute bras and underwear, and lots of cute glammed out accessories (including jewelry). you would be surprised at what you can find at regular stores in your mall. i would even check hot topic cuz they have really cute lingerie and stockings too.

in my stripper bag, i have:
    -body spray/perfume
    -deoderant
-a few different nail polishes, it is important that your fingernails AND toes are perfect!
    -clippers
    -tweezers
-razor, shaving cream... just for emergencies
    -lotion
-FACE WASH... after all the makeup and sweating, i will get major acne if i don't wash my face every single night.. bring some "blemish spot treatment" too
-makeup, including plenty of blush and bronzer
    -hand sanitizor
    -hairspray/mousse/detangler
    -curling iron/straightener/blowdryer
    -extra ponytail holders

that's all i can think of right now...

one word of warning: don't keep money in your purse, keep it on your body via garter. the only time i put money in my purse is if i have a shitload of one dollar bills and they won't fit in my garter.

every girl does things different ways, but this is the easiest way for me. i decide on what outfit i'm gonna wear before work, so i'm only carrying my beauty bag, one outfit, and my shoes. the less luggage, the better.... because other dancers are known to snatch shit.

yes! and i'd also get one dress that you can easily put a bikini top or bra underneath of-- because in some clubs, you can't go topless or nude for LDs. Being able to take SOMETHING off (the dress) and still be within the rules (boobs and pussy covered) really helps when doing LDs. Taking off the dress makes the guy feel like he's getting a little bit more for his money , and it stretches out the time and gives you something to play with (you can have it half-off at the end of the song and teasingly ask him for another--most guys will go for another when I do this, b/c they want to see the dress fully off! ).
