I travel quite a bit on business. I have been to 49 of the fifty states. Below are US destinations that come to mind(most of these have been leisurely)
Hawaii, Martha's Vinyard, Nantucket, Kennebunkport(ME), San Francisco, New Orleans, Miami, NYC, Newport(RI), St. Pete's Beach(FL), Florida Keys, and Door County(WI). I want to make it a point to visit Mackinaw Island(MI) and Alaska.
I've been to Toronto, Quebec, and Montreal. I want to go to Vancouver and will be doing so in the second week of September.
Europe is lagging, I've only been to Venice and the Greek Islands. I hope to broaden my travels there.
I've also vacationed in Panama, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Bimini(Bahamas), Caracas(Venezuela), Aruba, St. Thomas, Dominican Republic, Cuba(as a child), Curacao, and Ixtapa(Mexico). I have a burning desire to visit Rio.
My next vacation(besides Vancouver) will be to the Pacific Rim. I want to visit Australia, New Zealand, and above all, Tahiti!
Everything listed above has been vacation oriented.
Just here to live and learn.

Wow, I've got some catching up to do.
When I was seven, one year my family did the "National Lampoon's Vacation"-type odyssey (except it was West Coast-East Coast, and without the dead grandmother). We drove from the Bay Area to Toronto, then up to Montreal, down the eastern seaboard to Washington DC, then straight west back to California. It was among the best three months of my life. The only other big trip I took as a kid was going to Hawaii when I was 17.
Since then, I've been to Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto, Canada...Washington, DC...Orlando, FL...a million times to Vegas. So far after moving to England I've only made it to Barcelona and Ibiza, Spain, and Geneva, Switzerland. Going to Nice for Labor Day weekend though! Can't wait.
Places I've never been but want to see: Australia, the Caribbean, New Orleans, Paris, Italy...basically, everywhere I haven't yet been!

This thread couldn't have come at a more perfect time, but I'll get to that in a minute.
I've been to about 20 different countries and 40 states in the U.S. already, and am looking forward to doing some more exploration in the Spring again through the countryside. My wife and I are going to rent an RV, throw our three dogs in, and just drive for two weeks. I'm already looking forward to it.
My next voyage though will be to China in November with my best friend,Tim. He and I created a sort of "Life's To Do List" years ago, and one of the items on it is to play the game of Go (hugely popular game in the orient) on the Great Wall of China, so in November, off we go to do just that. We're also planning on going to Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Forbidden City as well while we're there. I'm totally excited about this. While I'm cruising around in the Spring with my wife though, my friend will be checking off another item on his list...having Easter brunch on Easter Island. How cool is that?!
This leads me to my point though. He and I have been pondering starting a website about these types of cool things we make in our life's to-do list. A site where people can post their lists and the site would help them to keep on track with these things so that people can start checking them off their list. Perhaps charge a small fee, like $20.00 a year or something. Does this sound interesting to anyone? I'm just curious if anyone would seem this interesting enough to participate? If we were to do it, it would be a full-blown professional site designed to really help people have fun in their lives. How does it sound? Good idea? Bad idea? I'm just curious. I was just thinking about one of the things on my list that I crossed off last year in fact. I wanted to eat a Philly in Philly, a hot dog at Times Square in New York, and have Chicago Pizza in Chicago. I did all three last year.So what do you guys think?

Well, why not, DancerWealth? If anyone could sell the concept, it'd be you!
I never had any interest in going to China, until I went to Hong Kong this April. Now I'd really like to go...we should all learn about the country that is going to be top dog in another 15-20 years! Better start learning Mandarin everybody!

Thank you for the complement! China is an amazing place. I have spent a considerable amount of time in Taiwan, which is, for the most part, chinese culture. I had wonderful experiences there and was absolutely amazed at how sincerely nice and enlightened the people there were. So now I'm going into mainland China where I can soak up even more. What did you like most about Hong Kong?Originally Posted by Adina link=board=1;threadid=11214;start=msg143175#msg143 175 date=1090644213

Out of country: Japan, Ireland, Caribbean, Mexico.
In the U.S.: Every state but the New England ones.
Plans this year: Texas, Wyoming, Chicago, Vegas, Los Angeles, Tampa/St. Pete.
Next year: L.A. again, New York, San Francisco, and not sure where else, but business usually leads somewhere. And, I hope, Germany/Austria/Switzerland.
In Canada-Vancouver,Montreal, and Toronto are all great cities in their individual ways. Been to all the provinces except newfoundland.
In the US- loved San Francisco, Boston..also seen most of the eastern and southern states.
rest of the world-Kiev in the Ukraine was a real experience, St. Petersburg (Russia) was pretty amazing but also a bit of a culture shock.
London, Prague, Tel Aviv all interesting.
I would like to get to the carribean, my family have gone but I seem to have missed out, also Scotland (ancestors-dont u love those bag pipes lol) and my exotic spot is the Seychelles down in the Indian Ocean.

Hey guys,I'm from Taiwan!Originally Posted by DancerWealth link=board=1;threadid=11214;start=msg143200#msg143 200 date=1090646322
China has really evolved in the last decade. The government is still communist but the economy is now capitalist. It's so strange seeing Hummers for sale there. The Chinese have really adopted the western mentality,(pets, clothes automobiles, etc.)Besides Australia, that is one other place I wouldn't mind moving to.

Wow, some of you have done quite a bit of travelling. I'm impressed. Here's my list:
US: All over the Pacific Northwest, Cali (LA and San Francisco), Reno and Vegas, Salt Lake City, NYC, Maryland, Orlando, Denver...oh yes, and Montana.
Canada: Vancouver, BC
Europe: Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France (several cities in each country, I'm too lazy to think of them all, hehe) and London.
I also went to Mazatlan, Mexico, just after high school graduation- from what I recall, it was fun, haha. I was 17 when I went to Europe, and even though I'm only 22 now, I feel like I'm mature enough to enjoy it more. I want to go back within the next few years. I'd also like to see all 50 states, but whenever I tell customers in my club this, they list off the states worth skipping.I wouldn't mind visiting Australia either.
I have lived in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, and now Indiana. (And I hate it here...)
I've done the tourist thing in each state (except Indiana, because I hate it), with Key West being my favorite. I've also been in most of the southern states for whatever reason I had to be there at the time, whether dancing or just for the hell of it. I love a road trip!!!
I adore New Orleans, Louisiana and can't wait to go back again...It just felt wonderful to be there. Like I'd finally found my home. Unfortunately, I was only visiting....
I honeymooned in the Bahamas.
We're going to Orlando again this December to take our son to Disney and the other theme parks....
I'd like to go anywhere. At this point, I don't care. Just as long as it is NOT Indiana.
Like the car, I'm exotic, erotic, and expensive....![]()
