I had a little incident happen to me the other night. Tell me ladies, how you would have handled this if you were in the dancer's position.
I've had a few bad run ins with waitresses at SC's before, but the last night of my vacation, I ran into one who deserved a idiot medal because a dancer had to bail me out for her incompetence.
I go into this club on a Wednesday night and sit down. It wasn't particularly busy so I found it rather strange that five, ten, fifteen minutes passed without seeing a waitress. Esspecially considering that I hit this same place the first night of my vacation on a Saturday night when it was much busier and got served promptly.
I had thought of just going up to the bar and getting a soda myself, but then I spotted a hot looking brunette on stage that I wanted a dance from. I went up and tipped her, and asked her to come see me when she was finished.
I go back to my table and wait for her when finally the waitress shows up. I order a soda and wait for her to come back when my dancer finishes her stage set and summons me with the "come here" finger to tell me that she's ready to go back to the private dance area. I hesitate for a moment, knowing that the waitress is going to return with my drink, then think "f**k it", and went back for my dances. I waited on the waitress for fifteen minutes, so she can wait on me to get back. Time is money right?
So we're just beginning our second song when the waitress comes over to the private dance area with my soda, just buts in and says "I've been looking all over for you. That'll be two dollars". My dancer and I just sort of look at her in a bewildered manner like, you just so interrupted our dance.
Then she gets beligerrent, "Two dollars for your drink. You gotta pay for it you know. Gawd, I only make like two dollars an hour."
Now I knew that I had to pay for the drink, but the fact of the matter was that I was paying twenty dollars for that dance, which her rude incursion was ruining. Not to mention that its a little hard reaching for one's wallet with a gal on his lap. I was about to get up anyway when my dancer, who was understandably getting peeved at the waitress, pulled two ones out of her own money and paid her. I gave her an extra five at the end to make up for it.
"Gee, I only waited twenty minutes for her to show up." I told the dancer. She replied, "That gal is, uhh, not very good."
Now, I could have understood this little incident happening on a night when it was busy, but considering the circumstances, the whole thing was rather unexcusable. Having to put a dance on hold because I'm waiting for a drink is not my idea of a good time, nor is having the waitress interrupt me in the middle of it for something that could have waited another three minutes.
I wouldn't have blamed my dancer a bit for giving that waitress a well deserved don't you ever interrupt one of my dances again chewing out, considering that I've seen customers get up and leave a club over a hell of a lot less.
Any experiences like this one that cost you money, or could have cost you money, that you'd like to rant about?
