Default Anyone else looking foreward to the Olympics?

I think it's cool that they are in Athens this year. I can't wait until the History channel put out some documentary on the original olympics (I'm so there), and you know they will. Granted, the original Olympics were held at Olympia, rather than Athens, but it's cool that they are returning to Greece.

Personally, i can't wait. I'm a little worried about terrorism, though.

    May the best nations win.

I'd be a LOT worried about terrorism, considering the bombing incidents which have already occurred in nearby Turkey. Worldwide news coverage is going to act like a magnet for terrorists to make their point against Israel and Coalition country teams.

    I LOVE the Olympics!

    Oooh.. Men's Beach Volleyball!

Melonie, I hear ya. I'm worried myself about the terrorism threats. Hell, I'm even worried about the Democratic Convention that's going on in Mass this week. My Brother-In-Law just got a promotion, and the position is in Mass.

Not to get too off-topic, but my Mother in Law said "Ah, don't worry, they're after the Republicans, what would they want with the Democrats?"

I had to laugh, even though it's not entirely funny.

    Go U.S.A.

I'm also rooting for Canada, and England. I hope to see some athletes from other countries i can root for, too.

Does this mean that Men's Beach Volleyball is actually a team sport?

    Funny, I never noticed.

I always enjoy the Olympics. Even the worst of them are better than most can ever achieve.

Flying off on a tangent (because that's how my brain works) and not wanting to create a new topic on such a lame idea.......I think there should be a new "reality" show - for strippers!
12 women live together.....never been strippers before....there is, of course, a committee of several professional dancers (preferably from this site)....and the newbies go through the steps.....being fired one by one, of course. The hustling part being the key factor in each round, obviously. Sounds perfect for SPIKE TV, no?
