If I work a split shift I usually tip out 50/50 to the day/night shift, more if I've done particularly well during that time. If you come in early at my club and work a double, you only pay the fee for the initial time at which you checked in. Pretty simple.

    At my club:
    house fee= 25.00 per shift (5hours)
tip-outs=owner gets 15% DJ gets 7% manager and bouncers get whatever you wanna give them. (I want them to like me, and tell me who the big $penders are so I give 'em 10.00 all the time, if they give me a good lead, 20% of what I made from the guy...)

no house fee, $10 to the dj, $2 to the bar, $2 to each bouncer (2) If anyone has particularly helped me out that night I tend to give them a little more.

Please tell me that those fees are a typo...
If not, what club to you work at and in which city?
How much are you making that you can tip out that much?

    Here's my club's house fees:

    M-F: Check-in before 4pm = $20
    Check-in after 4pm =$40
    Check in at 6pm= $80
    Check in at 9pm= $100
    Check in after 9pm = $120
Sunday is 8pm check in =$40, after which the fee is $60

Then, at the end of the night, you tip the DJ anywhere from $10-$20, and the house mom at LEAST $10, and the floor tip-out is another 20% of gross earnings.
Which club is this (or at least city and state if you don't want to give the name)?

VIP's Chicago...they had a mandatory meeting this past Sunday which I didn't go to (on LOA)...so the fees may have changed...won't know for a few weeks, yet...but if the fees did change...they only would have raised them.

i'm working in san fran and fees are a bit ridiculous here compared to the rest of the country. my fees are pretty good considering their proportion to wage and quality of the dressing rooms but far from ideal. that said there are no set house fees but we must get a min 10-14 dance chips, depending on which night/day you're working at $25 each all paid to the club. Additionally, private dances are metered and all of it goes to the club. It's basically $250-350 per shift and you lost $20 every seven min of a private dance. this excludes tip-out; i usually only tip the dj and whoever walks me out but some girls tip everybody. there is a written policy that tip-outs aren't allowed, but it seems to only mean that no one can outright ask you for a tip.

not the whole dance! - sorry i didn't specify clearly, it's $20 for every seven min. to a meter of which the dancer doesn't get any of it. as for the cost of the whole dance...well, it's by discretion

I'm not currently dancing but I've been researching clubs and I was told that fees were $120. There were a couple of clubs in Seattle that said that. I don't know how much dancers make up here so maybe that's reasonable.

I work in a small club in Detroit and the house fees vary from $0 if you come in on time (8:00 p.m.) to $35 if you come in between 9:30 and 10:00. There is also a fee to use the V.I.P. section of $20. Paid by the dancer once per night. If you don't use it, you don't have to pay. You also have to tip the D.J. a minimum of $10 and the valet $5. I D.J. too so I always give the other guys at least $20-$25 but there are some girls who, no matter how much they make, only tip the required $10. D.J.'s have to tip-out the house as well. $3 per girl. Some clubs it's $5. A few don't charge. But no club pays their D.J.'s. It's all on tips alone.

    At my club:

    Ready by 6PM,$10.
    Ready by 10PM,$20.
    Midnight and later,$50.
    DJ:Minimum,$10.
    Housemom:Minimum:$5.
    Floormen(bouncers):Minimum$5 from each dancer.
For example,if you are ready by 10PM,you will pay $40 total for everything.

    Main floor dances:$20
    VIP dances;$40(club gets $10)
    VIP rooms:Half hour,$250(club gets $50),Full hour,$475(club gets $75).

This is the best tip out/VIP system in a club in my opinion,in which I have EVER worked.

    whoooo BOY!

In Ontario - you pay a flat freelance fee from $15 to $60 one time at the beginning of your night. Period. Dances are $20 per song and you keep every dime.

Some clubs will drop $10-20 off that fee if you do a stage show in the evening.

I cant believe how high some of these payouts are - ya'll are getting the squeeze!!

At Centerfolds in SF, they take $20 from your first 4 lapdances, or they take 20 from your first 6 dances if you are late for a shift. Its not all that much considering that it is super easy to upsell (lets say-- taking off your top you add $20, for contact you can add another 40 etc)

$10 house fee to come from first VIP dance [ie, lap dance] or pay out of your pocket. $5 or 10% to DJ. Half of VIP dances. [VIP dances cost $20, dancer gets $10].

In the vast majority of clubs I have been to, they fall into one of two business models ...

The "show club" model - high to very high nightly stage fees (worst was probably Scores at $260) plus small dollar tipouts to bouncers, waitresses, and other club staff and big dollar tipouts to champagne hosts. The plus side is that the club allows dancers to keep 100% of their champagne room and tip money.

The "lap dance factory" model - low or nonexistant fixed nightly stage fees (like $50 or less), plus small dollar tipouts to bouncers, DJ's etc. The minus side is that the clubs keep a significant percentage of every dancer's private dance/champagne room earnings (up to 50%).

As I understand it, the rationale behind the "show club" business model is that only dancers who are well above average and successful hustlers will be confident enough to pony up large nightly stage fees, which gradually improves the calibre of dancers working at that club by bankrupting girls who don't go over with club customers very well.

The rationale behind the "lap dance factory" business model is to give all dancers an opportunity to earn money, but making it difficult for girls who are above average and successful hustlers to get rich. This eventually discourages any 'prima donnas' from working at the club, since they're required to hand over up to 50% of their earnings to the club vs being allowed to keep it all at a "show club".

I think Melonie hit it perfectly. This is the first club i've ever danced at, but even with high "quotas" it only accounts for about 20-30% of my gross earnings - i expect this percentage to decrease once i've gotten more experienced. For San Francisco and it's notoriously high fees, i consider this to be fair, especially since the club can't serve alcohol and the working conditions are so comfortable.

I personally think that most clubs hire way too many nnecessary employees who do nothing or very little and then have the nerve to try and extort the big bucks from us. Most of the time dancers get the blame for anything that goes wrong anyways.
Asking a bouncer for help is almost always a sure way to get fired. I only pay them money to stay in the good graces of management. I prefer to deal with problems on my own. It is extremely rare for me to feel the need to have a bouncer help me out.
I also worked in a club recently that actually encouraged the VIP manager - bouncer to steal from dancers who don't follow some ridiculous 3 second rule. That is the most disgusting employee abuse that I have ever encountered in my life. Talk about a major lawsuit waiting to happen.
If a bouncer helps me to earn more money by working out a deal or keeps me informed of the time in VIP, then I will always tip him because that is worth it. I don't like to have to pay for forced protection (for example walking to my car or forced valet). That is called extortion and it is illegal. If I feel the need for someone to walk me to my car, I will ask; and I will pay for his service.
Most clubs hire housemoms who know nothing about health and bring in really gross food. We are actually expected to pay them at least $10 for any old gross garbage. That is ridiculous. One of the reasons that I have worked in the same club for so long now, is because our housemoms actually bring in good stuff. Good food is important when you are doing a physical job. Most housemoms bring in bunch of 59 cent hamburgers from Burger King or some giant Safeway sandwich with poor quality processed meat on poor quality white bread. Who in their right mind is going to pay $10 for that crap?
I always tip the DJ $10 if I am doing stage and he plays good music; or $20 if he keeps me off stage as much as possible so that I can $ell more dance$. As long as the DJ helps me, I will take very good care of him.
I think that most clubs are not up front with dancers about what is expected of us to stay in good graces with management . Due to the fact that we are called independent contractors, managers are not allowed to give us any guidelines on how to be a good employee.
Most people prefer to believe their leaders are just and fair even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen acknowledges that the government under which they live is lying and corrupt, the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. - M Rivero

At my club it is $10 for house, a minimum of $10 to the dj and $3 minimum to the bouncer. We have two bouncers on the weekend. You are also required to work 4 shifts per week. I usually tip $20 to the dj and $10 for each bouncer. We also do a "T-Shirt" dance where we sell a club shirt and a dance for $15 and $10 of it goes to the club...
