Default Ethics, Morality and MP3's...OH MY!

Anyone ever debate the ins and outs of sharing MP3 files around here?

LOL Mojo.. Yep, there have been debates about this, I believe in Music Mix. Personally, I don't download through any P2P file sharing anymore. I stick to emails and CDs exchanged via snail-mail with my best friend. When he gets a CD he knows I'll like, He burns me a copy, and vice-versa.

You can check Music Mix though, I'm sure there's quite a few. I remember posting a while ago.

Yeah, but you didn't answer the morality part of the question...

Where's the morality in charging twenty bucks for an album with two good songs?

The argument for that would be "But now you can buy the two songs for $.88 a piece at walmart.com."

Really? Are you aware that the biggest filesharers are teenagers, and that teenagers don't have credit cards?

Myself, i like the fancy packaging, but i have no issue with downloading music. I download entire albums just so i can hear them before i buy them (something i am convinced record labels are terrified of).

And what about Liege and Leaf? Their entire catalogue is out of print, want it? Better go to Kazaa. How can you steal something if it's not for sale?

Er.. Not for nothing, but Kazaa and KazaaLite are the debbil.

If you're going to fileshare or do any type of downloading, go with WinMX, or Limeware. They're much better.
