This afternoon I stopped by one of the clubs I visit on a regular basis. I'm familiar with most of the Suday afternoon crew - managers, bouncers, waitresses, DJ & dancers - and I immediately noticed a new dancer who I hadn't seen before. Once she took the stage you could tell she was a newbie. (The biggest give away was that she was clearly not used to her shoes yet.) Anyway, I figured I'd show her some support so I approach the stage to tip her. As I handed her the tip I asked, " so, what's your name?" She responds, "Would you like my real name or my stage name?" I couldn't help but smile and then responded, "I'm sure you'll find many guys looking to get your real name, but it's usually best if you stick with just giving out your stage name." Too funny.

(Just reminded of another story)
Another time I visited a club, I walked in just as the clus was starting a 2 for 1 showcase. Most of the dancers were off giving the 2:1 and one dancer who was unable to find a willing participant was asked to perform on stage. I handn't seen this dancer at the club before, so I figured she must be a new dancer, but you could tell that she had danced before. When I approached the stage to give her a tip she was in the middle of doing some floor work. I leaned in and asked her name, and she stopped cold. Clearly embarassed she looked up to me with these sad puppy dog eyes and said, "I forgot my name. I'm sorry. It's <Insert Name> but that's my real name." I told her not to worry and that she was welcome to stop by and tell me later on after she remembered.![]()
