    Default Taxi Driver

    Hi Everyone....

Well I found a Taxi Driver costume First, I'm wondering if this is a cute idea, or if you think it's weird and that people won't get it. Second, what music do you think might go with this costume?
I've been looking for a skit to do because my club is now mandating them and I just can't decide what I want to do Thanks for any suggestions!

Lenny Kravitz did a song, I think the exact title is Mr. Cab Driver, i know that's in the chorus.

    "Drive" By the Cars.

It's a cute idea and I don't think it's been done alot. Good Luck and have fun!

Prince has a great song called "Lady Cab Driver" on his 1999 CD. The lyrics are fairly raunchy, but hey, it's a strip club, right?

"Let's Ride"--a slower R&B track by Montell Jordan featuring Master P and Silkk.

Philly DJ will no doubt have a dozen or so ideas, lol...

As a DJ, I have worked with a taxi driver costume before and the verbal possibilities are endless. I don't go for vulgar or direct mention of sexual acts, but joking about it or hinting at it can be effective. Especially if the song and the costume beg for it.

"To ride" meant "to fuck" when "to fuck" meant only the act of planting seeds in the ground in a strictly agricultural sense.

You can jokingly allude to the notion in myriad ways without giving them any unwelcome ideas.

"Scream if u wanna go faster", Geri Halliwell, "Born to be wilde", (Kim Wilde does a great updated version). I think Bryan Ferry had a song called Taxi off the cd of the same name.

Although it's taking the theme in another direction, did you ever see the film clip to a song Duran Duran did called, "The chauffeur"? It is very naughty and very hot.

I Can't Drive 55 was a Sammy Hagar solo tune.

There's also a house version of Tracy Chapman's Fast Car that would also be great. Not as sure about the original version though...unless you're good at dancing to slow music.

I've done a Taxi Driver set, using the theme from the soundtrack from Taxi Driver and then "Car Wash," which radically changed the pace from sexy and distant to playful and cute, AND gave me an excuse to get wet. They don't precisely go together if you think about it, but it nobody ever mentioned it LOL How long is the skit supposed to be?

I had put together staging to go along with this (big rearview mirror, etc.), but I'm assuming your club wants just a theme, not a bunch of props crowding the dressing room.

I think they'll get it and they'll love it, however you decide to do it.
