    Default Needs a song!

Hey! I need a fast song for my set. I have a good idea for my slow; i will wear pointe shoes and dance on Resurrection by PPK, but i need a first song to compliment it. I will not wear my pointes for the first one though. I generally look for songs that are musically interesting; changes in the beat, nice musical punches or sound effects and also stuff that the audience can recognize and relate to. Just to give you an idea, Im curently dancing on "Die Another Day by Madonna" and "Hold me, Thrill me, Kiss me" by U2 for my slow song. Looking forward to you suggestions.

You might want to just buy this CD, Fundamental Breakz, mixed by Rob E and Security. It has four or five tracks which would work quite well with "Resurrection". If you prefer to download the tracks I will list them, but the CD is hot and you will have more versatility for reasons listed below.

"Automatic" [Rob E and Security's Electrofunk Mix]--by DJ Bucci, is track 2, and is the hottest on the CD. It takes a bit to kick in, but when it does, look the hell out...

If you do get the CD you can tell the DJ to start it at about 50 seconds in, and let it play that much into track 4. This may sound weird but so many techno songs are slow to get going, and thoroughly mixed into each other, that I do this all the time--in fact it is a rare techno track I will just start at 00:00. If your DJ is cool and has his equipment set so it doesn't automatically sense the track ending and switch to next song it will work fine.

"Devistating Journey" [sic]--by Rob E and Security is track 3 and is similar. I assume they spelled it like that alluding to "vista" as in view.

"Hypnotising" by Rob E and Security is track 7 and has some hauntingly beautiful female vocals mixed into the trademark Rob E irresistable funk breakbeats. It definitely has "changes in the beat, nice musical punches", and should be lively enough for anyone out there.

If you want something really fast, try this...

"Come to Me" Eskovah, featuring Karry

My version is from a Mixmag CD called "The Takeover Bid: Round One", mixed by Aphrodite. This track has some of the most beautiful, mellow female vocals I have heard ("I wanna love you down...", etc.), superbly mixed into a serious pumped-up jungle beat which is not for the faint of heart. If you can dance fast or pick up on the backbeat, you couldn't ask for a better song.

BTW, have you listened to the "Trailer Trash Mix" of Resurrection? It is a bit funkier, and you might like it for a change of pace.

Are you talking about ballet pointe shoes? That sounds fantastic--I have worked with several dancers who have taken ballet and I always love it, but I have yet to see one go out there in that kind of footgear, that would be very cool.

If you are into ballet you definitely need to check out "The Firebird Suite" done techno style, it is the only classical piece I have heard that really pulls it off--it is beautiful!

There is a band called Bond that Gynger and Brooke Quin mentioned, and some other music mentioned in the link below, but I haven't checked them out yet.

Also you should try out Delerium, especially "Terra Firma" from the Poem CD. This track is apparently a collaboration of sorts with a group called Abude. I played this in a torn up biker strip club in Daytona for my girlfriend when she first visited and the guys were completely riveted, which was beautiful and very funny at the same time...
