Carpe Diem!
It's the summer and a lot of people are on vacation now, the economy is bad and the business isn't what it use to be. Good luck and take the good with the bad.

Personally,I can't stand working at locals type clubs because they get possesive and want to extend it beyond the "dancer/customer" relationship.I make A LOT more at clubs with out of town conventioneers and businessmen, people I'll never see again.

I don't believe in regulars, however I have them... but they all know that I do not expect anything from them when they come in and if they choose to spend their money elsewhere, I have no issues.

Now this is really interesting. I am getting the impression that regulars are generally a pain in the ass because they expect more and spend less, and it's the one-timer who has planned on a night out and blowing a wad (of cash) that is the one that pays the bills, for the most part?

Mojo, you basically nailed it on the head for me.In New Orleans, there's A LOT of the latter(much more to my liking).

Same here - or more precisely, I consciously avoid working in "local" clubs because of their limited customer base. When a club has 80% repeat business by the same customers, and 20% new business on a given night, dancers who do not cozy up to repeat customers to the point of allowing them to become "regulars" take a huge financial risk on their popularity with the remaining 20%. Dancers also take a huge risk that those 20% of new customers brought in enough money with them to buy private dances on top of the cover charge and 2 drink minimum.Personally,I can't stand working at locals type clubs because they get possesive and want to extend it beyond the "dancer/customer" relationship.I make A LOT more at clubs with out of town conventioneers and businessmen, people I'll never see again

For this specific reason,it sucks working in military towns. Not only are they repeat customers, they are young, broke repeat customers.

Opposite for me. Regulars are my bread and butter. I work in a club (area) without dances (lap, table, private) so the only way to make more than what I do on stage is to find people willing to pay me to sit down. I have found that the better they know a girl, the more they spend for her attentions. People who come in once and spend well are great, but not how I make money most shifts. I need my regulars.Originally Posted by MojoJojo link=board=27;threadid=11464;start=msg145229#msg14 5229 date=1091004856
If you can't get rid of the skeleton in your closet, you'd best teach it to dance.-George Bernard Shaw
I'm with Brooke on this one. I used to call up my regulars, or they me, to see if i would be dancing that night, remember i was ONLY a stage dancer at the time, so i really needed to do shows for specific people, and than chat with them for awhile.
Yep, they can be a pain. Same guy, same dance, same conversation...boring. They paid well however for me to wear a certain outfit, and strip etc. etc. etc.

It would take an entire year's worth of money and customer tracking...but it would be an interesting set of results. Per quarter (and this would be important for time of year comparisons...summer...winter....you get the drift) what percentage of income is gathered from the one-timers and what percentage of income is gathered from the regulars. I think you'd also want to track specifically how much income comes from EACH regular (not just all of them lumped together). You might have one guy come in one time and drop $150 on you.... and a regular that comes in every 2 weeks and only drops $30. That's $780 for the year from that one joe. Since he's a regular, he already adores you, so you don't need to work quite as hard (this is all conjecture...feel free to tell me I'm a dumbass....I will answer to that name.) Anyone willing to track it all and report back August 1st, 2005 with your findings?

Regulars do champagne rooms. Someone who spends thirty dollars is not a regular.

I just reviewed a Club for a possible buyer of a Club in Maryland. I decided to go to Washington D.C. and see how the clubs are running. While there I will have to admit I visited Nexus Gold Club and it was off the hook! I am in the business of buying and selling clubs, consulting for the buyer and the seller. The Nexus Gold Club is catering to White Collar clients, being 4 blocks from the US Capital :o
Enterance fee was $20.00 if you didnt get a pass from your hotel or taxi driver. The $20.00 a dance, to $300.00 a girl per hour to go up to VIP along with a bottle of champagne and no VIP room charge was not slowing down any customers that I could tell. The club is 15,000 square feet and runs about 50-80 girls on the busy nights. Not very impressed with there website, but I dont think that matter too much when the club sells itself, once you walk thru the doors.
If you want to know more let me know.
My Blog:
This is why I love my club, we cater to out of towners, and our regulars have been coming there for years. Im sure there are some who expect extras, but thanks to our bouncers and management they are few and far between.
