    Default Dancers, perfect club?

This post came to me as I was reading that "PAC" topic...

    IF...and I mean...IF

a person wanted to start a club business, what would be the costs involved? Is there really bribing and the like?

What would be a FAIR way of charging the dancers for dancing and what would be a FAIR proportion to some of the money earned while dancing? Or is THAT even fair...

How does that part work, exactly?

Do you think extras like Valet , Buffet , side businesses like porn or toys next to the club and all...are worth it?

The club would HAVE to have an ATM, and a modest to large bar , and great s:speaker/audio equipment . How important is lighting/flashy dance lights stuff ?

Is it realistic to think you can have a SC or Bar with a NON-SMOKING section, or would it never get used... i.e. wasted space?

Anything else I haven't thought of...this is just a mental exercise to see what it is you dancers/DJs in the biz think would be your perfect setup...

How many bouncers? Would you need/want cameras (just to CYA...but then could the tapes be used against you somehow...)

I have been thinking, what if there was an incentive plan...for loyalty. I know you guys don't have pension or 401k stuff...but what if you stayed with a club more than 1 year, you were offered these type of benefits...is that something that would be worth it?

    What would be perfect?

(of course, I am sure I will get posts like...let us dance for free, and such...but I am serious....) I would really like some good answers to this one...

Just like any business, some are paid under the table to look the other way.Dont do it buddy,it will sneak up and bite your ass in the future.Once you grease the skids, you always gotta grease them.
This is a legal business, get a permit and open legal. No need to grease the skids, let your lawyers do it in court.
Stay as legal as your area allows, then there is no need to bribe anyone.
If you bribe someone to stay in business,THEY really run your business, not you.
What would be a FAIR way of charging the dancers for dancing and what would be a FAIR proportion to some of the money earned while dancing? Or is THAT even fair...

How does that part work, exactly?
your asking the inmates how to run the prison.Your putting the cart before the horse.Get the permit to open first, without that, nothing matters.
when you open, charge the entertainers what is common in that area.

Do you think extras like Valet , Buffet , side businesses like porn or toys next to the club and all...are worth it?
The more lines you got in the water, the better chance you have of catching a fish.
Dont half ass anything. For every corner you cut,you lose money potential.Unless your in this for the pussy, money is what your looking for.Why wouldnt you explore every angle?
The club would HAVE to have an ATM, and a modest to large bar , and great s:speaker/audio equipment . How important is lighting/flashy dance lights stuff ?
Yes to the ATM.OWN IT,DONT RENT ONE!charge 5-7 dollars per transactions of 100 dollars at a time.you will average about 10k towards the bottom line per year.
    yes to the bar!
yes to the sound system. In this day of cars with 10-20 bose speakers, the general public wont stand for popping or blown speakers."dirty"sound will cost you more money then you can belive.
Lights are a touchy topic for entertainers.Entertainers hate bright lights, customers love them.DJ's try to find a happy medium.
Lighting is as important as the sound.
You can expect sound and lights to cost more then the bar set up,including glasses!Plan on it running around 50k for a cheap set up.
Is it realistic to think you can have a SC or Bar with a NON-SMOKING section, or would it never get used... i.e. wasted space?
    sure,why not,its a trend sweeping the nation,bars with no smoke.i know i wouldnt try to be the first sc without smoking.(i dont know if i could handle the entertainers who cant smoke for a whole shift!}
Anything else I haven't thought of...this is just a mental exercise to see what it is you dancers/DJs in the biz think would be your perfect setup...
nothing matters till you get the permit to open. You can get one from someone who already has one,or you can try to get a new one(good luck).
Find a club to buy is my advice.
How many bouncers? Would you need/want cameras (just to CYA...but then could the tapes be used against you somehow...)
yes video can be used against an entertainer in court.
BUT BUT BUT as the club owner,it can and WILL save your ass in court.fuck the entertainers who give extras, use video to cover your own ass and every other professional entertainer that works for you.
    Video is a god send!
I have been thinking, what if there was an incentive plan...for loyalty. I know you guys don't have pension or 401k stuff...but what if you stayed with a club more than 1 year, you were offered these type of benefits...is that something that would be worth it?
sure, send them on vacation for a week,or give them a week of no tip outs.
Just remember, your the owner and boss, your not supposed to be everyones friend.
    What would be perfect?
perfect for an entertainer is not perfect for owners.
again, your asking the inmates how to run the prison.

(of course, I am sure I will get posts like...let us dance for free, and such...but I am serious....) I would really like some good answers to this one...
There is one answer, get the permit.everything else will fall into place with a good gen mgr and mgrs.

    good luck.

Sir-theres a site devoted to buying and selling stipclubs...I think there was a link on this site or SCJ site? Although things are getting corporate in this industry there are still plenty of mom and pops.

I've always wondered though why so many customers get this dream in there head that they want to own a club. What makes the perfect club? One where you make a lot of money working short hours in a fun environment with well adjusted people, customers, management and other dancers...and not have to compormise yourself and do as little as possible in the way of contact. To be admired from afar not groped.

For me, I Always thought this was the perfect business. Second only to owning a casino. The dancers make money, the customers are happy, the owner is happy. seems like it is win-win-win...but I just wanted to know what the pitfalls were...what it was that you should do to do it right...and what you should NOT do...

    eh...mental exercise.
