Default "I don't feel like talking to anyone today."

Anyone ever have a customer say this? It doesn't happen often, but a couple of times I have had customers say "I don't feel like talking to anyone today" or "I'm not feeling very social" after I approach them and ask how they're doing.

I'm not ugly or annoying (at least I don't think so, lol), so I don't think it's me personally. Is this just another way for customers to say that they don't want dances? I can understand that everyone has days where they just want to be alone; I have those days myself. But if you're feeling like you just want to be alone, why go to a club where you know that girls are going to approach you for dances? Why not just stay at home? ???

I once had a dancer say that to me. Actually what she said was that she didn't feel like working and asked if I would sit with her for her entire shift (we knew each other from previous visits.) So we sat together for 6 hours till the place closed. It was a fun night, at least for me. Rather expensive though. Anyway, to answer your question, sometimes guys don't have much money to spend and they just want to have a couple of beers and watch, that's all they can afford that night, or maybe every night, but they don't want to admit it. Not everybody can afford laps or even buying a girl some drinks. This is an expensive hobby.

NO! I've had that, damn assholes, actually it wasn't what he said it was the way they said it. I wasn't even going to ask for a dance just to say hi.
I'm here to make money. NOT make friends, if I make a friend then it's a bonus.

I'd rather be absolutely ridiculous that absolutely boring

I actually had a customer give me $20 to just "go away" and all I did was ask if he wanted company!

Nope.. not you... its them.. sometimes I wonder why they don't just go to a regular bar if they just want to be alone.

LOL I've had that Gynger... usually it's the really drunk ones, I say hi and they're like "here..." and wave a twenty vaguely in the direction of my garter. I thank them and they'll be like, "I don't wanna talk.." Um, okay.

Yeah, I don't get why guys in foul mood who are going to be antisocial pricks come into clubs anyway, then are rude to us for doing our job by trying to keep them company and entertain them.

Once in a while, I try to counteract their mood by saying something like, "Well, I've been told that my dances have a very relaxing effect, and the best part is, you don't even have to talk!" Of course said very playfully with a big smile...hey, it works sometimes!

What an ass!! Really though, why come to a strip club then? Go be miserable somewhere else. I think sometimes patrons forget they are supposed to be having fun.

Some people thrive on making others miserable. Also many guys are really dysfunctional when it comes to communication with women...for some reason they get off on telling a good looking girl to get lost. Never understood that myself though...I'm there to have fun and get some attention.

We have this guy thats been coming into the club for 5 years and he has never once bought a dance or a dancer drink. Ever. He just sits at the bar and watches and trys to talk to all the girls like he is thier best friend or something. I hate him! He gets away with it because he buys his 2 drink minimum and once in a great while he will tip a dancer a buck. Then he acts like his dollar is golden. The sad part is the newbies actually talk to him thinking he will spend so he gets all this free conversation. I hate dancing when he is watching because I hatee giving him the free show and he always stares at me. Sorry bout the rant. Did I mention I hate him and all guys like that.

Good question, esspecially when at home there's no cover charge or drink minimum.

Well at least you didn't get this wonderful exchange, which sadly is in no way fiction.

Dancer: Hi. How are you doing?
    Patron: Awful.
    Dancer: Awful? Why?
    Patron: My brother just died.
Dancer: (taken aback) That's terrible! Is there anything I can do?
Patron: How about a blow job?

I can be a pretty gloomy gus, but I've never gone to the club to be a hermit. I don't get it either, but perhaps the guy went in with ulterior motives or an agenda, was disappointed and was then surly.

Who knows? Just ignore and move on.

Hmmm. These guys might be feeling depressed / sad / lonely / etc. and are looking to be cheered up, but too down or embarrassed to come right out and just say it.

The only time i feel like that is thirty seconds after i walk in the door. It never fails, i always get hit up right after i get there.

I'm never that much of a prick about it, though. I'll usually just give a friendly wink and a "Hello" and go about my way to scope the place out.

However, if the girl was nice and welcoming and wasn't a wannadancer i'll usually scope her out a little later for a few dances.

If i'm grouchy or pissed off, i'm not gonna be in a strip club. If i need to be cheered up, i'll do something that cheers me up like look through my comics. Or pick up some of my "The Far Side" books. I'm not going into a SC to drag a bunch of Dancers nights down.
