    Default serious slump

this past week i have been in a serious slump. pretty much the worst i have ever had, especially in vegas. i was just wondering what the rest of you do to get out of a slump without taking a vacation or break? i know there are some things i can do, but i would love some suggestions or advice. (i don't want to try another club, bc i like the club i am at)

Trust me, everyone in every professional career has asked the same question at one time in their life. Slumps happen for dancers, professional athletes, sales-people, politicians, corporate executives, students, you name it. Business is slow right now across the country, not just Vegas. Vegas has probably a larger swing than most cities though as when business here is good, it's REALLY good, and when it's dead, it's dead. Right now a lot of the local clubs in Vegas are doing really well whereas a lot of the clubs that cater to tourists are a lot slower. I was just in Play It Again Sams on a weekday and the place was packed. You go into Sapphires and it's very slow right now. Tourist season in Vegas doesn't kick in for another month or two so until then, it's just going to be a bit slower depending on the club you are at.

A lot of it also has to do with your mentality about your business also. Convince yourself that you are in a slump and you'll have a difficult time getting back into successful nights. Don't fall into the trap that you are "in a slump" rather that you just had a few difficult nights. Stop believing that you can't make money, rather that "it's getting better all the time!". Change the way you think about yoru work and you'll change the way you work. Change the way you work and you'll never say the word "slump" again.

    Hey cutie....
I know you are comfortable at Sapphires but Play it again Sams was really busy before I left...so is the Library.
Whenever I get in a slump...I take sometime to step back and regroup. Get out of town....go back to CA for a day or so and relax by the beach or something.....then go back and try again.....
    And keep in touch!!!!!!!!!

try a completely different look at work....something that's fun to wear. maybe your club has certain requirements in terms of costumes, so work within that. for example, a couple of years ago i was in a slump, so i wore a purple bobbed wig for a few days...played a blade-runner dominatrix-looking chick. anyhow, the point is to have fun, relax about money, and let your mood improve. good luck

Take a day off. Pamper yourself. Turn your phone and the outside world OFF. Sleep in, do nothing but anything you want to do for you on this day off.

When I get into slumps, this is what I do. I take a ME day. No phones, no errands, I just basically do whatever I need to to get myself re-energized. Usually, I am in a slump because I am exhausted, so I sleep. I also take a nice hot bubble bath, paint my toes and just kick back for the day.

    Works like a charm.
