    Default Ministry fans take note...

The new (or relatively new, anyway) CD called "House of the Mole" is pretty good, though most of the songs would not be allowed in the majority of stripclubs I have worked in. Fans of hard-core stuff will like this one...

Ministry has been around for a long time, but though they have undergone several transformations (the tracks on this CD sound like a totally different band than the one that did my favorites, "Revenge", "Over the Shoulder", or "Angel"), they haven't lost their creativity.

I only got to hear up to track four, which was the one that I could play, but this one alone would make the CD worth it. It is a bit slower than the thrash-speed pace of the first three, and would be very danceable for anyone who likes Pantera and the like.

My friend who had this CD told me that the title is some sort of parody of Led Zep's "Houses of the Holy", but what the joke is I have no clue--anyone out there know the answer?

i love ministry, although i think i listened to them much more in high school than i do now, lol, i didn't think they'd produce anything worthwhile again after psalm 69. i couldn't ever dance to anything of theirs sexily in a strip club, though. anyway, according to a review online the joke is instead of holy it's mole like in mole sauce. kinda lame, but i could understand how today's gov. "houses" of republicans can be alluded to shitty mexican peaunuts sauce versus their holier than thou attitude. haven't heard the album yet, though, i'll have to check it out.

yup, it's a reference to mole sauce, that brown mexican food stuff. theyve also had "dark side of the spoon" and the like, in fact every album since Al discovered guitars has had a silly title like that. the recent live album was "SphincTour" which i thought was wonderfully awful.

havent heard the disc yet, but their last few have failed to impress me at all. i do know theyre touring starting i believe next month, with My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult. and there's a new Revolting Cocks in the works as well, according to a recent interview i saw somewhere. woo.

personally, while i really liked "stigmata" and some of that sort of thing, i'm with Djoser as far as i was always a "Twitch" ministry fan, when they were kinda aggro-dancey electro stuff, without all the ARRGGH LOOK WE ARE METAL overtones. oh, and paul barker, the other half of the ministry duo, has left the band. check out some of his stuff, notably "the age of reason" recorded as Lead Into Gold. mmmm....s'good. yup yup.
