theres not much to do...it really wont get that bad like you think.

The quickest way to get back to work is to leave that leg totally alone.

Do not use it at all...let it heal....once it heals...then go for physical therapy to re-strengthen your ankle slowly...you dont want it happening again.

You wont lose your shape in a month...youll be ok...

Look into some yoga stances. Yoga uses muscle resistance and long duration, not moving and bouncing around, to build muscles and endurance. Will not bulk you up, but will keep you fit.

I know you hate to hear it, but I have to agree with AinNy. Your concern should not be building muscle, but healing your ankle. Especially in this line of business, ankles are very fragile and need proper time to heal and recover, and when it's ready you can begin strengthening exercises. Its better to let it heal than to push it and possibly end up with a more grievous injury. Besides, AinNy is right...it won't be as bad as you think and you will regain your strength and definition quickly when you start working again.

Agreed with both Ain and Amber. Although if you INSIST on doing something, you can always lay on your stomach on the floor and raise your legs. It targets the lower back and glutes.

Although, really, you need to rest and let your body focus on getting that ankle healed. It won't take that long to gain back muscle after you get the cast off. If you don't take the time to let the ankle heal, you will prolong your recovery...and it'll take even longer to heal that ankle.

    Just relax...rest...and let yourself heal.
