Perhaps you guys can help out a newb. I'm 5"9 and am wondering how tall is too tall? What height heel should I go with? The regular 6 inch, 5, or 4? Let me know what you think! Thanks!

A friend of mine is 5'11" and and another is 6'2".they both wear a six inch heel. Some guys have a tall fetish and you will bank from them.

Yep! There's no such thing as TOO tall in a strip club.
Wear whatever heel height you please!

I can't vote because you didn't give me an option!
I'm 5"10 and wear 7 inch heels, like Venus said there's no such thing as too tall!
Im 5'10" and when i danced, i tended to wear shorter heels only because i felt kinda weird and the stage where i danced had a pretty low ceiling. My head was like an inch away from it when i wore 5 inch heels. If i had worked in a club with taller ceilings i would have worn my tall shows more often. Other than that i think you should wear whatever shoe you like, not being afraid of judgement will get you more money and make you look much more confident. plus all the shorter dancers wont mess with you because you can look down at them and glare devilishly. They will not want you to squish them like a bug.
Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. Your normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop-heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
i'm 5'9, too and i feel too tall for these guys. i tend to wear like 3 inch non-stripper heels. like regular high heels & stuff w/ no platforms. i move better on stage w/ them anyways.

Guys adore tall women!!!! I'm 5'9 and wear 6 inch heels.... the other day I had a customer (who I was towering over mind you) tell me it was so sexy to see a striking, tall woman dance for him![]()
Thanks for the responses girls!
Susan-Va, the only reason I didn't list 7 inch is because I'm not ready to dance in that height yet! LoL!
I think I will either go with the 5 or the 6. I'll probably buy the 5 inch frst to get used to and then upgrade later. =)

the higher the heel the more uncomfortable it is to do lap dances, think about it... many tall girls would choose 4" heel for that reason.
Hmmm, well I suppose I'll have to get all three heights and try them out! So hard to choose! I guess it'd be best to start out lower and work my way up?![]()

Considering that the mean height for women in the US is 5'4", being taller--even significantly so--would work in your favor if you subscribe to the same fantastical ideals that most SC patrons do.
I always prefer someone at my height or taller, even though I'm just average (5'10"). Makes the woman seem larger than life. And that's a good thing.

I love tall girls. I'm pretty short (5'3.5) so wearing the 6 inch stripper heels makes me feel like some kind of goddess! I think most guys love the added height, regardless of how tall you are to begin with. It literally puts you on a pedestal. Also, you could always take off your shoes when you lap dance if that's okay with where you work/your customer. I've seen girls do that a lot.

I take my shoes off when doing dances becasue they make me too tall for that! Also so I can get my feet on the seat, they won't let us do that in shoes becasue so many girls have put holes in them.Originally Posted by ~*~Cassandra~*~ link=board=25;threadid=11790;start=msg151065#msg15 1065 date=1091843156
gosh guys..i'm only 5'2!
Ah! Now I'm not so worried! If I'll be allowed to remove my heels to give lap dances that'd make things much simpler!

Just thought I'd be the first to add a customer's view to this thread....
Height concerns are actually a common topic on the board. If you look through some of the threads you'll see similar responses to what others have said here - there's no real such thing as too tall!!!
I'm 5'9" (5'10" in my shoes) and one of my favorite dancers is 5'10" barefoot. She loves to wear all size heals and somtimes she stands well over 6'5" in her shoes.
Because so many dancers wear 5" to 7" platforms even a 5'5" inch dancer is as tall or taller than me most of the time. The height of the women in the SC is just something guys get used to, and probably one of the few places where height is not found to be intimidating.
Like one of the other dancers mentioned, you may want to think about taking off your shoes during private dances in order to get a little closer to your customers. (Of course this will depend on how clean the floor is at your club, and how comfortable you are taking your shoes off.)
Have fun, and best of luck!
If you can't win. Make the fellow in front of you break the record.
The chick I'm staying with here in Alaska keeps talking about how she doesn't make as much because she's "too tall" (at 5'11" barefoot). She wears non-platform clear 4 inch dancer shoes.
I keep trying to tell her that it's BS! She's beautiful and has a body to die for, but she maintains she's not making bank because of her height.
I'm still working on trying to convince her it's not true!
Wear whatever heel height you want, just walk around the club with your head held high and don't slouch! Work those killer long legs that I'd love to have! I'm 5'4" and need to fake it with my 7" heels, you've got the real thing babe!

You can never be too tall!!! The size of the heel should be what you feel comfortable inI'm a tall girl also, and I make hella money in the 6inch.

As every one else said, you simply can not be too tall!
I'm 5'9, too, and I can not be seen without my 6 inch platform stilettos. Not only do they make me look and feel sexy, but I find them far easier than any other shoe to dance in.
I was surprised to find that one of the reasons 90% of my regulars were initially attracted to me was due to my height. A lot of men find taller women very appealing, but for some reason it seems to be a social expectation that Men must be taller than their lovers. One of the wonderful things about a SC is that many of the normal social standards do not apply, leaving men free to explore and appreciate different types of beauty.
Because, when given a choice, how many women do you know that--all other things being equal--would choose a shorter man over a taller man?A lot of men find taller women very appealing, but for some reason it seems to be a social expectation that Men must be taller than their lovers.
I'm thinking of a number between -1 and 1...

Wonderful! I've always loved being a taller girl but I knew that some men are intimidated by it. I had a bf once who was a couple inches shorter than me. He HATED it when I wore platforms or high heels!! His ego was huge yet so fragile! He didn't even want me to wear anything remotely sexy around his male friends. I think the problem is with the friends NOT the way I'm dressing! We only dated for a few weeks, good riddance!! Anyway, that's where the height doubt came from.
Here's my very first pair of stripper heels I'm going to buy! I'm so excited!!

I also noticed that a lot of girls tend to wear the backless slide on heels? Don't they fly off your feet sometimes or make your feet slide around more? Do you choose them because they won't give you blisters on your heel area? Are they just more comfy? Whenever I wear slide shoes the heel always drags on the floor when I walk a la flip flop or if I walk too fast it flies off my foot like a rocket across the floor! LoL!

All of my shoes have a back strap because I feel more secure in them. I have very narrow feet so backless slides are not an option.Originally Posted by Orchid_Bloom link=board=25;threadid=11790;start=msg153243#msg15 3243 date=1092095803
I haven't seen any one's shoes fly off as they walk, but knowing my luck, if I were to wear some thing without the back strap it would happen to me!
The shoes with the cone heel look lovely, and will eaiser for you to learn to walk in if you have not had much experience in stilettos. Plus, clear goes with every thing![]()
I prefer backless shoes because I think they make my legs look longer (I'm 5'4") since ankle straps tend to cute the line of the leg and I like open toes too.
My feet are a bit wide from years of ballet though. I've never had properly fitting shoes fly off or slide around. It seems to help if the inside of the shoes is padded pigskin.

you won't slide around in backless heels because once your feet start getting warm, they kind of stick. Once my slide did fall off though, but I like them for taking off quickly and I really do think they make my legs look better for the reason Nina says...and I'm 5'9" as well.
Edit: I wear 5" heels.
These are my favorite (in black and clear) because they accentuate my long legs and pretty feet.
