    Default thin thighs?

i need to loose some softness and gain some tone in my thighs. my calves are nice and slender - but my thighs are more chubby than i would like. i found this exercise regiment on a modeling website but i have always been under the impression that squats and lunges would just make your legs bulky and muscular - not thin. have a look at it...

    Try some squats:
Stand in front of a chair or bench with your feet wide apart. Bend your knees as though you're sitting on the chair, keeping your weight on your heels. When your legs are parallel with the seat of the chair, slowly rise to your original standing position.

Take a wide stance with your toes pointing outward. Standing upright, slowly bend your knees in the direction of your toes until you can no longer see your toes. Slowly return to the starting position.

    Do some wall sits:
With your back touching the wall, move your feet away from the wall. Bend your knees so that your legs form a 90-degree angle. Stay in the position for as long as you can.

    Go for a lunge:
With your arms by your side, take a giant step forward with your right leg and raise it so your thigh becomes parallel with the floor. Pushing backward off the same leg, return to your starting position. Repeat with the left leg. Kneel down on a mat onto your knees and elbows with both feet flexed (toes pulled in). Kick up and out with one leg, squeezing the buttocks, extending leg straight out, keeping hips square to the ground during the movement. Bend knee in and return to start, a minimum of 20 each side would be great.

    Standing Stretch:
Stand about 12 inches away from wall. Place forearms against wall and lean forward. Step back with the right leg, keeping the right leg straight and press the right heel down. Feel mild tension in the right calf. Hold for 15 seconds, and then repeat on other side.

WITH LIPO, the weight generally does stay off in that area. But always, eat a healthy diet.(esp afterward)

Squats and lunges aren't going to make you big and bulky! Especially if you aren't using weights...of which there weren't any in that regimen. Also...a modelling website? Have you seen a lot of models lately with bulky thighs...that's what I thought, lol. The big and bulky women you see do low reps and sets of high weights, work out a ton, and usually use some form of supplementation to acheive maximum growth since we women don't have enough testosterone to bulk up physically. If you want thinner thighs, it is important to tone the muscles and make them shapely (like those exercises will) but you should be doing cardio (or increasing the cardio you already do) to shed the fat which is actually making your thighs big(ger) than you want them to be.

Does anyone know good cardio that doesn't hurt the knees? Since I've been dancing it's been pretty painful to run, I'm not a member of a gym so I bought this pilates video. I can do it, but it seems worthless. I need more than just a "tone up" in my thighs. The insides and outsides need to lose fat, but the front is really muscular from dancing. I don't want anymore bulk in front but i need some help on the rest. anyone know anything?

the elliptical machine is a great cardio workout that is low impact, especially on the knees. it's personally my fav, since the treadmill and the bike stress my joints. it's supposed to be a high-calorie burning workout too!

The secret recipe for thin thighs is simple: eat a healthy low-fat calorie controled diet and exercise doing cardio (either running or elliptical machine) and high reps of low weights to tone up areas...... its not going to happen overnight though, so be consistent
