Look into Strip City. Might like it. I borrowed it from my kid's mom and felt entirely too PL reading it. But it's a decent book. Well written.
i read strip city... and it was pretty good... thanks madcap.

I bought the book before I heard she might have done the shots without permission. The photos are more hardcore than many people are used to seeing, but I have to say, the text felt so so so real to me.
Has anybody sued her, and if she did the photos without permission and and no one has sued her, why not?

I got my copy in the mail today. Lots of realistic, good pictures. From what I gather she worked in New Jersey, so the club isn't quite Scores quality. There are interviews with dancers and customers. I'd reccommend it.
Smile. It makes people wonder what you've been up to.

That's a GREAT book!! I love it! Strip City is rad too.
I want this book!
Interesting articles too, especially this one:

His dissection of the stripclub culture is pretty insightful until the end when he, as expected, denounces them. But his POV is that of a gay religious male, so its not surprising.....

I liked Lapdancer too. The pictures and some of the text keeps you from going into stripping too naive- probably a good book for newbies. I thought it was really informative and looked at dancing from many perspectives- dancers, bouncers, and customers.

I have had this book for a little while now....It is pretty hardcore up and personal..I've read Stripcity and most of Bare....I like to read stripper/ dancer oriented books..but I can only handle reading so much at a time..I guess what I mean by that is that the harsh reality and the painfulness involved gets a little too much to take in...I have to read a few
pages at a time..I really havent gotten that far into it...Which leads me to a question to all of you girls outherewho are lapdancers for I am not.....I will post this in Ladies ONly here shortly..It is going to be a rather delicate subject...
I also enjoy reading stripper/dancer oriented stuff. The links provided earlier were great to read. If anyone has any more links to some interesting stuff about stripping or more books to recommend it would be great if you posted them. I love reading what educated people have to say about our industry.
I have Lapdancer, it's a pretty good book, not so much a good read, but more of a photography book.
