Default Newbie & know NOTHING, help :)

Hello all. Just browsing through the net & found this forum, which i'm glad I did bc I have soooo many questions.

    A little about myself:
Female, early 20's, from the east coast, brunette, tanned, petite, light green eyes, & never done stripping/gogo dancing in my life.

I want to start looking for good places in the NY(mainly Staten Isalnd, Manhattan, or Brooklyn) area. Or maybe in NJ too. Nothing sleezy & where I can make big bucks. I have the look & I can move my body nicely, & very confident.

Can any of you recommend places that you know of that I can go?

    What are the DO's & DON'T's?

    What to expect?

What happens usually behind the scenes?

    Thanks for your inputs all.

How much do dancers make an average of 2-3 nights?

Welcome to SW! We are always happy to find new friends here!

First I would check all the older threads on here. There is an amazing amount of knowelge on these boards! Look all over the forum, Body Business, Ladies Only, Newbie Board, Stripping General... they are all great!

Also, check out Club Chat and try searches for your area. Personally, I'm far away and can't help you but there are plenty of girls around here that can.

Can someone also tell me how I can approach a club. Like I can't just say, "Hi, I wanna work here." LOL...

    How does that come about?

Your best bet when approaching a club for the first time is to talk to one of the managers. Usually clubs will have a specific manager there who is responsible for hiring dancers. Find out who that is and come back when they are working. Before you even talk to them though, I'd ask someone in the club (maybe even a dancer working there) what the house fees/tip outs are in that club. Find out if it is the club you really want to work at first and how friendly they are to making it easy for the dancers to do well and make money. If it is the club for you, talk to the hiring manager and tell them that you have never danced before, but you have done a tremendous amount of research into the industry and you are looking for a great club to start in and stick with. They'll like to hear things like that. Then find out what is required to audition and then you're off! They may want you to rehearse right there, so if that's the case, be ready for that oportunity as you already have a positive environment set. If that's the case, then make sure you bring your makeup, outfit, shoes, etc. with you so you are ready to knock 'em dead right there.

Just make sure you really are doing this for the right reasons though. I've seen too many people crash and burn bad in this industry. If you are going to learn though, you've come to the right place. There are some amazing people on this site and many of them will have some great insight and knowledge that will help you when you need it. It's an amazing resource so make sure you tap it.
