I read an article in Popular Science Magazine that said the average small bill of US Currency has microscopic trace amounts of cocaine (and other powder drugs,) fecal bacteria (e. coli,) other common bacterias, and plain old dirt. Something to think about before the next man at the club asks you to pick up a dollar bill in an incorrect manner, or puts it in his mouth for you to take.
On a cool note, the white and red flecks in the fiber of a currency bill is scrap cotton from Levi Strauss Jeans Company ("Red tab.")
