There was a thread about this a little while ago... check a couple pages back.I think Cali_Tiffany started it.

I am getting these on Friday. Great Lengths have gone up 3x in price over the year, so I am getting Eurolock, which is almost as good but cheaper. Its still going to be $1,500, but luckily for us strippers, its a good investment.
Men love long hair! It takes half a day to do and lasts 5 months. You can re-use the hairs and get them put back in for about another $400 or so after the 5 months.
Yes, its probably not going to be worth it for me to do this, I am already having cognitive dissonance, but its half paid for.
I'll update everyone after its done!

I have never had any experience with the sew in ones but, I have heard they last around a month or so, and the initial pain is almost unbarable. They take your hair and braid it inot tiny horozontal cornrows then sew the hair on to your head on those.
Glueing is just parting your hair and glueing on the extentions in the part.
I think "Great Lengths" and "Eurolock" are the individual bonding of the hair, Kat please correct me if I am wrong about that.
Extentions range in price from about $150 for glue in to about $400 for sewn in to start with. That's the going price around here anyway.
I went and had them put in (glue) once, and from then on I just by the hair and have my hubby put it in. He says it's super easy to do and he actually does a better job than the girl that I paid to do it.
It takes around 2- 2 1/2 hrs to put mine in. I buy the hair (barbie hair), from the little oriental lady at the hair shop for about $8 a bag, (takes 2 bags) and get the glue and the remover there too. The glue is about $2 a bottle and the remover is $3 and the shampoo is $3 as well. So in all it only costs me about $25, as opposed to $200 or more.
How to take care of them? It's pretty much like your normal hair, you have to use a wide comb for the fake hair, and whatever for the real hair extentions. I like the fake better cause I can get it already curly, and the real hair is straight and because fo the processes it goes through, does not take curl well at all. I never wash my hair while I have the extentions is, so I don't know what that will do to them, but have very clean hair when you put them in, and just be careful.

I have Great Lengths extensions... they last about 3-4 months depending on how fast your hair grows out (the extension is attached at the root). Mine cost me $1300, but I love them!!! They are made with 100% human hair and look natural.... log on to greatlengths.net for more info

It depends so much on what you are getting/looking for. I had extensions once where they microbraided the fake hair into my regular hair (the hair was loose), and I've worn braided extensions as well, both braided half way down, and all the way down. The most mileage I've got is about 6 weeks, after which they look and feel ratty, but that's with synthetic hair. After the first couple times I started doing my own braids, which saves tons of money, but is a huge pain - it took me 16-18 hours to do - yick!
I've heard that fusion can last up to 6 months, but I haven't tried it personally.
