Default When customers creep you out...

Occasionally, I get a customer that just gives me a creepy feeling. Not any particular age or type of person, but just when I'm dancing, something either in the way they look at me or say, I don't even know what specifically about them bothers me. I was wondering who else gets this feeling, and how they deal with it.

I usually just avoid those people or spend as little time with them as possible.

Exactly I try to avoid them, or if I end up dancing for them depends on why they are creepy is how I'll be.
I'm here to make money. NOT make friends, if I make a friend then it's a bonus.

I'd rather be absolutely ridiculous that absolutely boring

How much time I spend with those customers depends whether it's a "good money night" or a "bad money night" mostly I try to avoid though.

I avoid those customers at all costs!

Even if I have been having a shit night, $50 is not worth feeling drained and uncomfortable.

Uncomfortable: NO if a guy makes me feel that way, I wouldn't spend ANY time with him. I'd rather go home with nothing.

I guess my definition of "creepy" is different.

(*to me*creepy: gives you a STRANGE feeling in the pit of your stomach, but doesn't (necessarily) do anything inappropriate.)

Follow your gut feeling. It's true, some things aren't worth the grief.

I can still get a feeling of discomfort from some one who doesn't do anything inappropriate... it's just a vibe.

I know that a lot of dancers are very strong and can pretty much block out the uneasy feelings caused by strange customers, but I really can not be bothered with those types of men.

As you said, I'd rather go home with nothing and a sense of well being than with $100 and a feeling of 'yuck'!

Yes, I agree with Playboy.. creepy is the feeling in the pit of your stomach.. not necessarily anything they have done. I avoid.

I very much agree -- if someone is creeping you out there is probably a reason.

Get away from him as quickly as possible, period. As this is clearly not the place for such a discussion, I'll spare you the details - but the end result is this: you should always go with that "feeling" you're describing, even though you'll find over time that you're wrong anywhere from 20% - 40% of the time. Before we moved indoors with running water, refrigeration, etc., we made much use of it, as pretty much all animals do. And while we've grown so comfortable most of us never have much need of it now, it's nevertheless still there, and well worth listening to when it happens.

one time a customer came in and was just weird. he claimed to not have enough money for the drink so I just said whatever and left him there on the back rail. next set I am up he is sitting there and tips a ten on the rail. weirdo. so I thank him blah blah blah. he stays a couple hours tips me about $50 total on stages and leaves. a few nights later he comes back claims to have a bomb rushes the dressing room and is completely psycho screaming my name! cops come he runs he somehow gets back in the club and the cops finally catch him. moral of the story trust the weirdo vibe and stay away

Stop and check in with your intuition. Do what it tells you. I second Katrine's recommendation of The Gift of Fear. Katrine, do you know the story about Vasalisa? It's russian...

Remember, some guys are just totally lacking in social skills. Go with your gut instinct, but don't be too quick. He may not even realize he's giving off a creepy vibe.
