Default type of shoes, patriotic outfit??

    Hi there!!

First I want to say just how GRATEFUL I am for this site! I'm just getting started, so I'm trying to do a bunch of research and whatnot......I like to be prepared!!!

    A few shoe questions........
What is the best type of shoe/heel to get?? I am looking at the clear shoes because I figure they will go with anything. I was wondering if they are okay or if wooden ones are better? What about a "cone" heel, or a regular heel?? I am 5'10" and tried on a size 9, 6" heel in the store and it fit, but someone suggested getting one size smaller because they stretch out and will be too big.....is this true??

I was checking shoes on ebay.....anyone gone through them to get shoes or supplies? They have some really good deals, just wondering.

As for outfits........I'm a Canadian girl and I'm going to be dancing in an American club. So do I play up the Canada thing?? Will the American boys like that??

Well, I'm sure I have a TON more questions, lol, but any help would be much appreciated!

You all are awesome for helping each other out!

    Welsome to SW Devinn4.

I once bought some shoes for one of my favorite dancers. Another girl recommeded LA Pro Fashions. Here's their site:

    www.laprofashions.com

They have a decent selection at reasonable prices and the dancer loved the shoes I got her.

    Another site is:

    http://www.flirtcatalog.com/store/default.asp

I've browsed the site looking for gift ideas but never bought anything from them.

I'm sure the other dancers on here will have some great resources for you, and you may want to try out the Market Place section of this site.

    -----------------------------------------------------

Another good resource for newbies is:

    www.stripper-faq.org

The site operated by a former dancer and she tries to give helpful hints on how to take care of yourself, suggestions on shoes & cloths, husstle tips, & money tips.

    Best of luck!!!

    Not really, but thanks.

I guess I just like to try to gather as much information as possible to have a better understanding of what's around me.

One of the reasons why I like this site and others, where dancers give each other tips, is becuase I feel it helps me to be a better customer as well.

    ur welcome!

The best part is I know my favorite dancers do too. It's a little cycle, they treat me great, so I want to treat them great, and so on.... I just don't believe it has to always be about money.

Wow, thanks, Verflogung! I am checking out the stripper-faq site, and it's great!

I've also been checking out some of the older posts to try to get some info, and it's been going really well! There are only two clubs in my city, but I went to one last night to check it out! Just trying to get all that research in, lol!

Any word on whether a Canadian girl will do well in an American club, or would I want to keep that on the "down-low"?

Thanks again! I'm getting so excited!

Personally, I'd probably be indifferent to you being from Canada. It might come up as a topic of conversation but I'm not sure it would be a big deal one way or another. Canada doesn't seem as exotic to me as other places in the world. Of course, I'm from the northeast. If you were in AZ, that might make a differance. Not sure.
(Just my opinion, and I'm only one customer anyway.)

Now some real SC junkies might want to know if you've danced in Canada, like say Montreal for example. That might peek some interest, but might also give guys the wrong impression or a negative conotation. Just a thought.

Just be sure to smile and maintain a positive attitude and you should do great no matter where you're from.

    Best of luck!

    Another great website for shoes...

This is a great website BC they have a lot of shoes that the more expensive sites have, but they are much cheaper. They have different sections like 6,7,8 inch heels. Cone, chunky, spike heel...etc...etc...the site sells shoes ONLY, but there are hundreds to choose from.
    Good Luck

Ragin Cajun, THANKS!!! I absolutely LOVE that website, and you're right, the prices are great! They even have a clearance section!! I think I am going to go with this for my first shoe:

They have one LIKE it on ebay, for a little cheaper, but it's with a cone heel....I think the spike looks a little sexier!

Is it true that I should get a size smaller than I would normally get because they stretch out? Or is that only for the leather shoes??

You're helping me out BIGTIME, thanks again!

I would keep quiet about being Canadian unless you have dual citizianship(sp) as if not you will be working illegal and if you get on some dancer bad books she may bust you. I know several canadian dancers who have been deported. Makes it tough if you ever want to go to the states for a vacation.

About the size, I am not sure...I'm thinking if the top is made out of plastic, then get your reg size but if the top is made out of leath. then get maybe 1/2 size smaller BC it will stretch. That looks like a sexy shoe! It looks like it has some stability around the ankle...you don't wanna GO AIRBORNE while you're on stage trying to dance!

    Good luck hun!

PS-I think the spike heel looks sexier than the cone heels...JMO.
