Default Laser Hair Removal - Completely Bare Down There

I'm thinking of having this done. Has anyone else done it? What are your thoughts? Has the hair returned? Was it worth the $$$ and would you do it again? I'm also confused about all the different types of lasers; does it really make a big difference? How much did it end up costing you for all the treatments?
Thanks so much for your help and opinions!

i heard on the radio , thats its something like 250 for under your arms and your legs and it only takes 3 minutes?

But im thinking i heard wrong because the amount of money and the time it takes doesn't really make sense.

If it was 250, (and i knew for sure) i would have done it a LONG TIME AGO.

You can probally do a search for it online and find out.
Thats exactly what im about to do!

I heard 400 for a mans face and that includes 5 sweeps (5 visits) over a course of months before all the hair is gone forever. I expected it to be in the thousands range!

I know the hair has to be dark, not blonde as the laser can't "see" light colours

I went for a laser consultation...it was $160 (CAD) for armpits, and you had to go three times over a few months (to get dormant hairs). So $480. Not that bad. But to me, I figured if I'm already there shaving everything else, doing my pits isn't that much of an extra hassle- i want all or nothing! Doing the full public area was $600, x 3. Not awful, but I can use that money for better things right now.

my friend gets laser under her arms, it's cost I think $100 to $150NZ dollars...she needs 6 treatments, she's had 3. She thinks it's too expensive to get over here so she's waiting till she goes home. She said it worked really well the first time, but needs to continue with the treatments......I know sorry I'm talking about the underarms!!

That's what I read, something to do with colour pigment. I only remembered because all my body hair is light

I have been seriously considering this for a while - but as you guys have pointed out, it can be expensive. I want to get my butt and privates done, will they do that for a guy? I guess I will need to travel out of HK to do so . . . . ???

I just had a consult and the lady I went to is charging 300.00 for bikini per treatment for 6 treatments. Lip and chin are 100.00 per treatment for 6. What made me hesitent was that she said after you get it done you are extremely red and wherever there is a hair follicle it looks like a bee sting. So you are swoll up and she said it does not look pretty for about a week. You have to go back every 6-8 weeks depending on your hair cycle and its growth. It is permentant. Does not respond to light hair, and you can't tan at all. It will cause hyperpigmentation, and if you do Mystic the area has to be completely exfoiliated. So it is something I need to wait on...........

Yes they will do this for a guy but some won't, you just have to ask if they're comfortable with it. To most it's no big deal. Yeah, I know of several men who have had all their pubic area and ass done.

So do you remain mostly hairless until it's time to go back in after 6-8 weeks?

Basically after you frist treatment the active hair will start to fall out of the follicle and while you wait for you next treatment you can shave while the dormant hairs become active. Our hair grows in stages thats why they tell you six treatments to make sure you get all the stages of the hair growth. It sounds good, I just need to wait until I can take a good amount off of work I tan alot and dont want my buisness looking all swollen. :o...... if you know what I'm sayin

The Epilight laser, which is the most popular, works best on light skin and dark hair. That's what I had done. There are other lasers that work on hair regardless of its color and your skintone, but they might cost more and be harder to find.

Try to research the place you go to, don't just go to the cheapest strip mall. I've seen a few chicks looking for discounts get rectangular burn marks from the machine being used by the technician incorrectly.

I go to Completely Bare in NYC; they're expensive, but really good.

You can't wax or pluck between visits, but you can shave. One great bonus is that if you shave as usual after your visit while waiting for the hair to fall out, you don't get razor bumps anymore!
