I'd like to book in North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Illinois, or Indiana during this winter. Any comments? Does the cold weather and Christmas cut into earnings?

your guess is as good as mine.
i was wondering the same thing.

In the winter, midwest strip clubs stay pretty busy.
Yes. Obviously I don't work at the clubs, but I go in enough...
Summer is considered the slow season here. Once it gets colder, the clubs get more clientele. I know I go more often.
Of course if it's super cold or if there's a bad snow storm or bad ice on the road, you're going to have a slow night.

I work in the midwest and right now it is really bad, but after school is in for a little while and the weather is a little colder it gets really busy. The summer sucks around here. Try working in this area in October.

Traditionally wintertime is the busier season around here, but the last couple years with the rotten economy and home heating bills going through the roof, there hasn't been a lot of discretionary income to go around, and what little there is usually goes into Christmas presents. Last Christmas, the gals around here were really complaining about how slow it had been compared to past years.
Really bad snowstorms can kill a crowd the day they hit, but I've found that during minor storms or during the "thawing out" period after a big one hits, crowds tend to pick up. People get cabin fever when they're cooped up at home for too long.
One thing I will say is to remember to account for regional inflation. A dollar generally will stretch a bit further here than it will in other parts of the country, but of course the average customer also earns less. In terms of actual dollars, a "good" night around here may be comparable to an "average" one where you live.

I work winters in the Dakotas and Montana. It's business as usual but the second week of December through the end of January is slower not so much due to the weather but to the holidays.
My bookings in Fargo last year in Dec and Jan were terrible. I made $950 in Dec for the week and in Jan $1002. Those numbers are about $500-$800 below normal. Of course there is no club pay at Northern except for lunch buffets.
The farmers don't work in the winter so they have time to hit the bars during off season. Last winter was a little slower than the year before but you still should hit $1100- $1600 during the holiday and post holiday period and February improves a lot.
Once you work a club and get some admirers it is important to exchange numbers with them as if you work in those clubs awhile these guys will come to see you many of the weeks you are booked. Each one of these guys can be worth $80-$250 a person during that week.
I can't stress consistency enough in these clubs. Take the time to chat with the guys on the phone for 5 minutes who like you and who buy from you in these clubs.
I was in Wal Mart Sunday night and my phone rang. One older guy who buys from me in one of my clubs was going to be in the area where I am booked now and he came in yesterday and bought 10 dances from me and 5 from a friend of mine.
A club can be slower than usual but if you have a handful of guys who will come to the club when you are booked that can be worth 25-30 dances for the week.
While the girls who don't hustle are selling 40 dances for the week you are up there at 75-80 because you cultivate and keep in touch with regulars. It doesn't matter if it is winter or summer, your money can average out if you do this.
Thus it is very very important to build a clientele in these smaller town clubs. And you'll find a few clubs that are a better fit for you in this manner than others.

Mm, I would consider it an honor if you come visit me....

My best month has always been December!
Don't be scared of Des Moines, IA. You don't need to "book" at many of the clubs out here. It's possible to trot your butt in, get hired and work.
We've got one of the busiest and biggest clubs in the nation that recentlly been nominated by Exotic Dancer magazine for awards. Which ones I don't know yet.... LOL Could be management tootin' their horn but I don't think so.

Tina, when you were in Wal-Mart, did you buy the hair pills?

I would stay out of the Dakotas unless you live close to the club you'll be working at.The blizzards up there can be very brutal and deadly....

As far as blizzards go, I've only experienced 2 in my 2 years working up there.
Deadly may be taking things a bit far.
It's no different than when any type of storm hits any state. You see the local news and the Weather Channel everyday. ALWAYS keep up on the weather. Plus you are only on the interstate on Sunday and you get storm warnings so if blowing snow or bad ice is a problem you have the option of waiting out the storm before you leave. The snow plows and sand trucks are out as soon as the storm is over.
And in Wyoming and Montana, they have gates at each interstate entrance which are closed if conditions are too bad.
I have travelled in blowing snow to where only one lane is passable in each direction. You basically drive 10-20 mph which we did from Fargo to Watertown SD which is 145 miles.
And on the Saturday before Thanksgiving last year blowing snow was an issue in South Dakota while I was working in Watertown. We wanted to leave after work so we could get back to Houston for the holiday.
The club was slow thus I had an $86 night plus club pay and we closed at 12 instead of 1.
Another girl I frequently book with lives in Sioux City IA which is 175 miles to the south on I-29 and she always leaves after work on Saturday to go home so we followed her at 15-30 mph and conditions got better about 125 miles down the road.
Icy roads hit from time to time. But remember, you are just driving through town to the club. And that drive is only 2.4 miles each way in Watertown SD, to a maximum of 7-12 miles in Billings MT so it is not like you are facing a big city commute to and from work in the middle of a storm. Just drive slow.
And the snows are not always heavy, so driving is not a big issue.
If you are not from a snowy climate, just make sure your tires have good tread on them, have an ice scraper in the car, AND keep a gallon of winshield washer fluid in the back seat which you buy WHEN you get to the cold country since the kind they sell up there won't freeze up until -25 or -30 degrees and the kind they sell in the places that don't snow only goes to 0.
Fargo ND DOES get really cold at times. Colder than South Dakota because it is farther north. I have gotten off work several times when it is in the -20's. You'll want to pour a bottle of Heet in your gas tank at each fill up when temps go below 0 so your car will start easily and not freeze up.
You guys can deal with it if I can. I'm not from snowy climate.
Just use your heads and have several heavy coats and gloves and ski hats plus shoes with good traction. And always have several blankets in your car.
You shouldn't get stuck in bad weather unless you are not paying attention to the weather forecasts.
If you are wanting to work in Chicago, then the best time to work is between October and December. Lots of travelers, conventioners, etc. The school boys are not in nearly as much which prompts the older generous spenders to come back.
Hope to see you there!

And the snow is great in the winter!!!!!!!! I love it.

The greater St.Louis area clubs I hear are good. The ones in Illinois anyway. Pt's, Diamond Cabaret. Big Al's in Peoria IL is a good one. Kappa Kabanna in Kappa, IL I have heard good things about. The Silver Slipper Saloon in Ottawa IL is another one I have heard is good. All in the winter time is good, summer is the time to be outside around here it's only nice half the year here. Most people do outside stuff in the summer and inside stuff in the winter. You have to factor that in when your thinking of the midwest. That's my .02$ worth.
Oh and I thought you said you were on your way out?
I know I would visit your club if it was in the midwest.
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
I have been dancing in western South Dakota for about 7 years now, lived here 23 years.
There are *2* clubs left on this side of the state due to the religious right winning at shutting down anything having to do with adult entertainment.
As it is today, when a road girl comes to visit us, it can be a good week for them, or totally devistating, I never hear them say anything inbetween. They have alot if issues with the new laws here and I have seen it more than once where they will break our rules/laws to get a dollar. There is not huge money to be made in the western part of the state anymore. Believe me, it sucks for all of us. I want to say there are maybe 9, 10 of us house girls left and we are working ALL the time as no one wants to deal with the lack of huge money and to following the new law.
These are the new laws as of April, 2003.
You cannot in any way shape or form touch the stage. NO MORE laying on the stage to tip.
No longer full nude, you must keep your bottoms on at ALL times. This includes no flashing. It is now a misdemeanor and you can end up going to court over this.
There is NO touching of money while topless. If you have your top off and you touch a dollar bill, that is a misdemeanor. You cannot have a dollar in your g-string while topless, you have to remove the money before you can take your top off. You take the money off the rail by kicking it off with your foot or covering yourself.
No touching the customers while topless. If you need to touch a customer or money while on stage, you need to cover yourself completely.
At no time can you wear an item of clothing that you can see the color of your areola. If it is sheer or see through to where you can see the color, it is illegal and cannot be worn. This include on the floor and stage. This includes bottoms. They cannot be sheer and they must cover your enitre butt crack. If any of that is showing, yup, it is illegal.
Couch dances are no longer full nude but done in a bikini. There is no grinding allowed at anytime. This one is so bad my friends, that the cops came in and watched a dancer do a couch dance last week. They told my boss that the dancer allowed her hair ( the hair on the top of her head) to slide down the customers shoulder. They said that that was indeed a sexual act and therefore illgeal. So, if you even THINK anything you are doing at anytime, be it on the stage or the couch area may be considered a sexual act, don't do it.
Like I said, it can be really, really good or really really bad. If you want to try your luck, PM me and I will give you the details of the bar. And we have a motel literally a few blocks from the bar that the road girls stay in, so if we have a blizzard, you will be ok.
And lastly, if you feel that you have to flash a customer, or touch them topless or think that you do not want to follow these laws, please, I beg you, do not ask to work here. The city has flat out said they are trying to regulate us out of business and anything they can find against us, they will use. They have recorded 70+ different instances of checking up on us with undercover officers since April of last year and we are trying VERY hard to fight the city to just leave us alone.
I apologize for any spelling or grammar errors, I am under the weather, stuck at home and wanted to sit here a bit. Thought I might give you a heads up on this thread and please, feel free to PM me for any reason.
It's a mouse thing. You wouldn't understand.
