Default "baby oil" question

Ok, I need clarification on somthing here, and I feel like an ass for asking. I know this has been gone over many times. We know baby oil is BAD. I understand this. MY question is the use of body oil as a moisturizer. I don't mean in glistening excess, like say body-builders use to define muscle; just enough to be absorbed by the skin. Does this still get on the pole and/or floor? Several of us at my old club used this, but like i said in my other thread, the pole wasn't widely used, nor was the floor; so please forgive my ignorance on this.

alot of dancers have tried for eons to find an oil or lotion that will be ok to wear. Most are still looking.

Its a saftey issue. Not just for you,but for every girl who comes up after you.

It also "catches" dirt and dust, this transferes to the next girls outfit giving her black knees and bottoms,or whatever touches the stage.
Use lotions and oils after you get off work, not before.
Just my opinion.

I can't stand when a girl uses baby oil. It slicks up the pole and the floor. I have seen many accidents from this. At my club if you are caught using baby oil, you get fined!

I used baby oil in the bath to shave, then showered after, for years and it works great. Never had an issue with slicking up the pole/stage. Not one girl has fallen or complained of slick stage when following me on stage. Ever.

So if you really need moisturizer, squirt a little baby oil in your bath water, shave in the water, drain the tub and shower off with body wash. The baby oil will soften your skin, but the shower will wash away any residue so you don't slick up the stage at work.

NEVER NEVER NEVER put baby oil directly on your skin before work. NEVER. And NEVER put lotion of ANY kind on just before going on stage. &#039ry' lotions can be used (ie, NOT Nivea. non-greasy formulas) if you put it on sparingly immediately after drying off from your shower. That way it has time to be absorbed by your skin before you hit the stage.

I agree with Bridgette. DO NOT put baby oil all over your body after you bathe because it is way too slick and will be spread to the pole and no one else will care how smooth your legs are if they are sliding around after you.

Bridgette, this is exactly what my girlfriend said to post--she couldn't as she was getting ready for work. She says "hi", by the way.

I will only add that if you use baby oil or slippery lotion at work you could wind up being guilty of manslaughter, if someone tries certain tricks after you on that pole!

thanks for the answers. the reason i ask is because i used to use i think it might have been a massage oil, to moisturize and it had a really nice scent. if i remember correctly it was either from the Body Shop or Bath and Body Works. It would have been nice to use when i eventually return to stripping. I wanted to make sure before i even considered it though. so thanks again.

Can't go past baby oil for making muscles look great on stage in my shows - but that's always a solo gig these days. Girls like to use it in my bridal shower shows too. Gotta be careful not to let it leak onto any costume though as it is a lycra and elastic eater.

Cocoa butter I hear is the way to go. Or if you want like a nice glow too, try some body shimmer powder after moisturizing.

Baby oil even before work is a pain because it never really quite absorbs completely.

Have you tried creamy baby oil? That seems to moisturize well and have a nice sheen to it, but absorbs much better than the regular variety.

Again, just do it before work, never before you go on stage!

I'll just say this short and sweet..."If you ever put baby oil on your body and then go on stage...and I happen to have the next stage set...where I slip and fall on my ass or fall from the pole because of it...I will seek you out and personally skin you there on the spot."

Just kidding...but, really...I've been on the receiving end of someone's baby oil on stage. It sucks. It takes a LOT to get the oil off of the pole and it's just embarrassing to slip and fall on your ass on-stage. If you want to use baby oil to moisturize, then go home take a shower, and then put the baby oil on. But, don't put it on any time just prior to work.

Baby oil contains mineral oil, which is a petroleum product. It's also pore clogging. Grape seed oil is natural, easily absorbed. You can add scent to it if you like. I also like Neutrogena oil.

Skin Milk by Naterra is a body lotion that changed my life. It has Vitamin A, D and E and smells terrific.

My ex told me it was great to masterbate with so guys who are looking at this don't say I never gave you anything.

Seriously your local drug store will have Skin Milk for about six bucks a bottle.

I used to use baby oil in the bath, like Bridgette said, but I started having dry skin and found out that baby oil really never absorbs. The soft feeling is on top of your skin, like a wax coating and actually prevents it from absorbing any lotion after you use it.

thank you all for the feed back. I really don't like baby oil specifically, i was speaking more about oils in general. if grape seed oil absorbs better then maybe it's an option. i guess i'll have to try it out first. I'm finding that the problem with my other moisturizers is that they have left me feeling filmy, like they aren't absorbing well. this is the other reason oil came to mind.

Whatever you use...do not use it just prior to work...even grape seed oil leaves a little residue (I LOVE GS oil). Use it early in the day to let your body absorb it before you go to work. Same thing with lotions...don't put it on just prior to going on the floor.

One of my tricks is I take a hot oil bath. We are talking a ton of oil. then I use a moisurizer. Then I put leggins on and sleep with them on. My skin feels soft as a baby's butt. I get soooo mad when a girl asks me do you have any lotion? I tell them straight up that they shouldn't use it at work.

We had this space cadet girl working with us years ago. (this is a girl who would sit on the dressingroom counter and pluck her pubes) She took a shower at work and slathered oil on her hair and body and walked out onto the floor like that. All the girls told her off and management made her take another shower to get it all off.

I know that in my club we don't use baby oil unless we are doing a candle wax show and that is on the floor and on sheets. One girl made the mistake of using it before she went on stage and did a pole trick and slipped down the pole straight on here A$$. so i would suggest you use it.

I have used baby oil in the past, but right after a shower or bath, because baby oil and water don't mix. It's ok to put a tad of baby oil on the legs, but not at work. The only place any oil belongs is in my hair. Dangerous stuff at work. If you must use a lotion, use something water based that will absorb into your skin and not harm other dancers.

Always water base, never oil at work.

I agree with everyone else, please never use or bring baby oil to work. It's so messy and it gets everywhere, and if I fall off the pole cause of it, you better believe there will be hell to pay.

I took baby oil away from 3 girls one night in the dressing room and told them they could get it back from the mgmt at the end of the night. I got into a fight for that one, but rather that in the back room than falling on my damn fool head for the oil everywhere.

I agree most lotions are bad too, but I only bring it if I know I'm doing a Hot Seat for a B-Day boy/girl whatever.

I even wash off the baby oil in the shower after shaving, I don't like the slimey-feel. I put white deodorant on my legs and "bikini zone" to prevent razor burn these days - would that be causing slips and falls too? <- haven't had any slips or heard any complaints, but I try to be courteous.
