    Default bikini bumps

ok..this is my last question, I swear! I was stupid and shaved my whole bikini area three days in a row; now I have horrible red bumps that will probably destroy any chance I have at the audition. I tried that gel "Bikini Zone" and it is working, but slowly. How do I get rid of them or cover them up before tomorrow? Ak I'm so scared. I'm also worried about shaving it again tomorrow in fear that I will get more red bumps but I don't have enough hair grown in to wax yet. Should I use a lotion hair remover? Any advice would be sooo much appreciated!!

DO NOT USE A LOTION HAIR REMOVER. depilitories are disaster on broken skin.

my suggestion (i have extremely sensitive skin) is to keep using bikini zone in alternation with a mineral oil-free moisturizer (i highly recommend the healing garden spa theraphy replenishing body butter). if you can, do NOT shave... if you have to (and i understand, sometimes you do) be sure and shave in the bath, NOT IN THE SHOWER. let the water be as hot as you can stand and soak in it for at least 15 minutes before shaving-- also, use a brand new razor. if you don't get all the hair on the first run, wait five minutes and do it again, allowing your hair to soak while you wait.

    good luck!

There is a product called Tend Skin for hair bumps. Have never tried, but I read about good reviews for it in magazine. It's like 10.00 a bottle. Also Sally's Beauty supply sells comparable product for less.

I read that shaving your kitty in a downwards motion 1st then re-soap up and shave in an upwards motion is the best way to get a clean shave cause yo take away the length of the hair by shaving down 1st so there is not as much drag on the razor when you shave upwards so you dont get a rash or niks.
    It works for me!

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on preventing or getting rid of the dreaded red bumps or ingrown hair that happens when I shave, wax, or Nair my legs. I just tried an epilator and the same thing happened.Â

I decided to move my question to this thread as it's related.

Would using an astringent or antiseptic afterwards help?

Try a product called Tend Skin-www.tendskin.com. It has worked wonders for me. Nothing worked for me until I found this.

Tend Skin and Bikini Zone dont really work for me. I use High Time bump stopper-2 it cost 1.99. I got it from the beauty supply shop. Its for razor bump treatment. It works very well. I havent had a bump since.

Does anyone get those painful goosebumps after they shave? It's always worse the day after a shave, walk into a cold club and BAM!! A whole rash of bumps down the back of my legs and my inner thighs. How the hell am I supposed to fix that in a moment? Anyone else deal with that pain in the buttocks?

A pricier but more permanent solution is laser hair removal. Right after your first session, you can shave if you need to until the hair falls out (don't ever pluck or wax it!) and even right afterwards razor burn stops.

I shave every other day and have been doing so for many years and with this routine, I have YET to have a single red bumb.

I run a small bath of warm water to soak in. While I soak, I shave my legs, finish that, stand and start on the crotch area. I buy a relatively cheap hair conditioner and lather up with that followed by a shaving gel. ALWAYS, ALWAYS make sure your razor is not dull. Once you even think it is, change it. The goal is to be nice and lubed up so the razor will glide and have a nice sharp razor to prevent any type of irritation.

I will then drain the water, stand and shower, wash my hair and shave under my arms. Once I am done and toweled off, I immediately take my deoderant, and use it under my arms and use it on my bikini area. Followed by patting any excess off. The deoderant on your bikini area works just as it does under your arms by slightly clogging your pores in the end, this clogging prevents those little red bumps. I have been doing this for years and I swear, I never have any more bumps.

    Try it for awhile.

diaper rash cream works okay but you can't put it on before work because it leaves your skin all whitish. deodorant works really well actually... I use the dove stick kind- also I avoid putting lotion in this area and that seems to keep the razor burn at bay- and I shave every day! Also - Kiss My Face makes a shave lotion that I really like.
