I'm just curious. I only have two or three outfits I'm comfortable with, but if I had more I think I would be changing like nine times.

It all depends on y mood, the crowd, if the outfit is making money for me. If an outfit is doing well for me I leave it on. People recongnize you by your outfits.

In a perfect world, after each set is when you should change.
Keep it freash baby, keep it fresh.
Nothing worse then a smelly entertainer who has been working all night in the same outfit.
I have seen many entertainers who wear one outfit all night, then toss it in their dancebag for the next night, like it was somehow going to get clean and ironed before they get to work the next night.(if someone could invent a dancebag like dat dey would be rich!)
When a dancer comes out of the back with a new outfit on,it turns heads, and makes them feel like a zillion bucks.Dont cheat yourself outta this ego boost a couple of times during the night.
Just as a suggestion.
count the number of times you usually get on stage per night.Thats the minimum number of outfits i would reccomend bringing. Then add 1-2 more for emergencies like stage spooge or lapdance "baptisms".If you know your reg will be there and he likes red, bring red,but dont wear it till he gets there.
also,if you buy an outfit from an entertainer you work with, kewl!Just dont wear it on the same night.Take it home and wash it,then bring it back to a room who has not seen it already.
also keep an eye on Ebay, you would be amazed at the great deals you can get.Just be sure to check the feedback ratings from other dancers before dealing with someone.
As another suggestion,if everyone is wearing booty shorts, wear something long.Dont try to copy what everyone else is wearing at the club.be different.Try to match your outfits with the music if at all possible.
Bottom line.If you feel sexy in it,that will be projected on your customers.
I change every other stage set, sometimes after each if it's been, say, 2 hours or more between sets. but if it's the beginning of the night and it's only been 45 minutes, I'll keep the same outfit for two.

I wear the same outfit all night so I am easily recognizable the whole time. I freshen up my make-up and hair constantly though. If you don't smoke, you should be okay wearing one.

what does smoking have to do with changing outfits?
I think that changing throughout the night is a bad idea. Especially if you have a stand-out outfit. Sometimes the guys remember the dress/color more than what you looked like. If you get REALLY sweaty, then maybe change...otherwise, keeping the same outfit on would probably help people remember you.

Because cigarette smoke clings to your clothing/hair & is especially noticable if your club is non-smoking. I mentioned this per BigGreen's comment:what does smoking have to do with changing outfits
Cigarette smoke is one of the few reasons where I could see your outfit smelling since we are out of our clothes most of the night (hopefully).Nothing worse then a smelly entertainer who has been working all night in the same outfit.

it depends on how busy it is... on weekends usually more... about 3-4 times a night.

I generally wear the same outfit all night long as people will recognise me due to the outfit. I've had it happen quite a few times where I've chatted up a punter, he left the club then came back later on.. and whilst he might've forgotten my name.. remembered the outfit hence was able to find me easily.
Why do I not change outfits? I usually spray enough anti-persperant deodarant (the no scent kind) on me after each stage set as well as a little perfume in the right spot that you won't be smelling the outfit.
Also.. I do take the outfit home and wash it if I plan on using it the next night.
Do have a back-up on hand if possible. Accident will and do happen... even innocent ones like spilling of drinks.

I just got back from my audition and my hair REEKS of cigaretes!! I was only in there for about 20 mins! The dressing room was so full of smoke! Even my throat is a little sore from inhaling 2nd hand smoke! I'm surprised! My bf keeps teasing me cause I stink like cigs! LoL! It's bedtime tho and I'm pooped, shower tomorrow morning.
Do any of you know of a "clean hair" smelling product I can spray on my hair to freshen up?

I typically wear the same outfit all night, though once in a while I might change once, but that's rare.
Most shifts I work are between 4-6 hours. I rarely get sweaty at work, if I do, obviously I'll change then.
I don't think it's a good idea to change after every set, here's why: You do your stage set in, say, your pink rose-print dress. A customer sees you and looks for dancer in said dress after the stage set. Sometimes your outfit is your best way of standing out, especially in a larger club and also if there are other dancers with a similar look to yours.

I typically stay in one outfit too, unless a customer has a special request or if that one isn't a money maker that night.

Normally I agree with the great Venus but here I have to sway a bit. I really work out on stage and after two or three hours I don't even want to know what condition my g-string is in. I change g's two or three times but I have several of the same color so me and whoever is standing next to me when I change knows about that. As far as outfit I try to layer/match/ensemble as best I can so I can play with it after I get hot and sweaty or bored. My one-year-old and I have the same attention span. Over a shift I swap outfit combos three times keeping something the customer will recognize and g-'s two or times.

I wear the same outfit all night, but I do change my thong atleast once. It isn't a good idea to sit around in very tight, sweaty clothes. It can cause infections...nasty!!

Depends on the night. And how hard I work (sweat factor again) if I DO change, I generally will keep on the same colors at least. I've also heard somewhere (on here) that changing to much can make you look insecure. I believe the quote was something along the lines of:
don't change 20 times in a night just because you aren't making money. This can tend to actually make you LESS money because you come off as insecure about yourself, or like you don't have any confidence. Trust, that it's not your outfit that's the problem!
Wish I remember where on here I saw that....![]()

I usually stick with one.... I don't want to waste time changing when I could be on the floor. The only exception is when I get too sweaty, someone spills a drink on me, or I'm not feeling the one I have on.![]()

We are required to change after every shift at my club, even if there's only a few customers. At times it really annoys me, because a couple of outfits I really like and would like to wear more than an hour or two. If I was at a different club that didn't care, I would probably change 3-4 times a night.
I think that's from the Stripper FAQ...a dancer from New York's site.don't change 20 times in a night just because you aren't making money. This can tend to actually make you LESS money because you come off as insecure about yourself, or like you don't have any confidence. Trust, that it's not your outfit that's the problem!
Wish I remember where on here I saw that....
I wear a different costume for every stage set, but I put on the same dress when I'm done as my coverup. This is the dress I work the room in, and they see me put it on on stage, so (hopefully!) they know to look for me in that.

I think Redken makes a( Refresh) for hair

Depends on how many clients im seeing that day.
if its 3 than the tie comes on and off 3 times a day LOL
Usually twice. If I am too busy on the weekends, I will wear the same outfit all night. It does not matter if it's off half the time anyway...![]()

i have more Ties in work than i do at home. If i need a tie on the weekend for something id have to run back to the office. Luckily its only a few blocks from ym house.
Vaden do you dance naked?
Dancing naked must be the way to go, only need one outfit. After all you can't change your birthday suit. LOL
I wear the same damn thing the whole night! I can't be bothered... as long I feel sexy, I'm good. I do have a spare and also I have dress for my slow song. I'm always wearing the same dress.. it's slowly dying... I need a new one but I can't find one to make me feel as sexy as I feel in this one!!
But dont worry Big Green, I wash it!! (actually I should go take it out of the dryer now..) Bye!
You know the saying? ...Celeste is the best!
