    Default What a weekend...

Hope you all had a great weekend....bear with me while I vent about mine....

So Friday night I go to Chili's restaurant with my ex/ bf thing and a couple of friends. I order a fruity drink (one that I usually get) and a plate of nachos. Everyone at the table had these nachos. My bf drinks some of my drink...all is ok.
I order the salmon plate that I always get w/ grilled veggies and rice, and another drink. I drink 1/2 of the drink and I eat a few veggies (which I noticed tasted REALLY spicy or something and I said that out loud). Two bites into the salmon, and I KEELED THE FUCK OVER IN THE MIDDLE OF CHILI'S RESTAURANT!!!!!!!!

Honest to God, I got really dizzy, started sweating all over, I thought I was dying, and because I felt so damn awful, I wanted to die. It was so scary. I passed out. Everyone thought I was kidding until I slid out of the booth!!!! I was hauled out of there on a fucking gurney! When I came to I was in an ambulence with tubes up my nose and in my arms. Talk about fucked up! My blood pressure was really low, and no one could figure out what was wrong with me. All my tests were clear. The doctor believes somebody at the restaurant put some kind of poison in my food.

    BOYCOTT CHILI'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, my ex/ bf stayed with me the whole time, freaking out, puking over the needles being inserted into my arms...lol. I love that shit, I shoulda gone into phlebotomy! They kept me at the hospital overnight for observation. I still feel kinda weird. I don't know what the fuck happened. I've done almost every drug out there, yet nothing ever did this to me (I haven't touched anything harder than pot in a year).

So Ash (my ex/ bf/ so/ ?) takes me to see the Allman Brothers Band last night!!! WHOOO HOOOO!!!! Nothing like the blues to cheer you up!!! Never noticed how sexy Derek Trucks was until last night...something about a man that can make love to a guitar with his hands..... .

So that was my adventurous weekend. Anyone fare better? (oh, and I have pics but I'm having a prob uploading them...I take pics of EVERYTHING)

I'm just really freaked out. I don't want to believe someone poisoned me, although there were some things that happened that night that were wierd. Plus, the doctor said he had a strong feeling that's what it was. My motor skills are still sluggish. It's fucking strange. People are evil. Seriously.

So now I get to have a bunch of tests done tomorrow and a brain scan (can't wait to see what the old grey matter looks like after years of ecstacy and other choice recreational drugs).

Eh, nothing a little Whipping Post can't cure.....Good Lord I feel like I'm dying......

    I'd LOVE to, BUT......

When I started feeling sick and dizzy, Ash called over the waitress who said she had been watching but didn't think it was serious (a girl passed out on the booth seat is not considered serious?). He told her he wanted an ambulence and our waitress kept asking if it was necessary. My guy gets freaked over a paper cut, so he demanded an ambulence. Now all of this is what he told me because I was done. I passed the fuck out on that bench, sweating like a beast and all. Well another waitress came over I guess and the two girls were kinda freaking out in a corner a bit, kinda fighting with eachother, and our waitress was overheard saying "how much was in it?" to the other girl. Well when the ambulence showed up, the paramedics put me right on a stretcher and hauled me out. The first thing our waitress did was grab the food off the table. Ash was suspicious from over hearing them before and he told our waitress he wanted my plate boxed up. He says he went outside to check on me after that, then went back to get the box and our friends who were getting all my stuff. The waitress "lost" the plate of food in the 5 minutes it was out of my guy's site. Then they wouldn't let them leave without paying for the bill, which was about $100. Ash didn't want to pay until everything was settled, but our friend Dave was scared and paid the bill.
So the day after, Ash goes back to Chili's and starts freaking out on the manager. The manager won't give back the money for the meal because that would be "implying they were at fault" and he plans to do a "thorough investigation" on the matter. BULLSHIT. The plate of food is gone, the cops should have been called at the very beginning, and my chance to sue is gone. AND, I have to pay the medical expenses!

    FUCKING ASSHOLES!!!!!!!!

Bizarre. I once commented to a waitress at Chili's once that there were chicken bones in my boneless chicken. Manager comes over, sees a little pile of bones on my plate. Asks me if he can buy me that meal, and another one. I said, don't worry, just thought you'd want to know. He kept his hands at his sides and asked if I would please mind if he took those bones, because he wanted to raise a stink with the food provider. I said go ahead. He then offered to buy the meal. I said, no thanks, other than the bones, it was quite tasty.

Hottie, I don't know what you can do without a toxicology test, and I'm not sure if any of that will be left over. I'd just about be tempted to call the district attorney or whoever and tell them you think you were poisoned at the restaurant and bring up what your friend observed. Take the hospital records along. Probably not enough there to do anything really from a criminal standpoint, but it might make the restaurant get serious when they have the cops or DA investigators asking to speak to the employees.

Merely inform him that you intend to file a formal complaint with your local health inspector. You live in MA right? Those guys can be friggin' Gestapo in restaurants.

    File a complaint.

I live in MA, but the restaurant is in Salem, NH. My guy went in there telling the manager that we planned to bring suit to them if they didn't pay us back, but they just said they'd do the investigation, took our names & numbers, and that was it.

Call the local health inspector and have your doctor forward your info.

Also, Chili's is a chain...isn't there a corporate office somewhere you can call and complain and threaten to send a lawsuit too?

not that im doubting what happened to you but if nothing came up in toxicology you might want to ask your doc if you could of had a vasil vagil epsode. it happend to a friend of mine one time and i was there to witness it. we were eating breakfast at a restaurant and he said he didnt feel well, went out cold and his body temp sky rocketed. luckily another friend who is a paramedic was there and we went to work on him immediately.

they did tests and couldnt find anything wrong or in his system and figured it was vasil vagil.

just a thought, and besides i hate chilli's any way

Hottie, how scary! Fuck those Chili's fuckers!

I think you should call the health dept. on them too. I used to work at Denny's, and everyone would freak out for weeks ahead of time of the inspections. And those were just routine checkups. I bet the managers will be shitting bricks for months while under investigation - and they deserve to!

Uhhhh.....how is it again that we have determined that this was specifically the fault of the restaurant?

The restaurant at least is at fault for not falling all over themselves to deal with the problem. A manager who has a customer pass out and possibly food poisoned should be doing EVERYTHING to avoid getting sued, blowing them off is very much the fault of the restaurant.

I agree that the manager should have been a little more involved...but that is hardly a sueable (is that a word?) offense. And when they say they're going to investigate...what's wrong with that? Of course, they have to do that.
