Sometimes it can catch up with you. But, if you're ever driving in that state again, I'd be extra careful. If they pull you over, you'll get busted for that on top of everything else.
I was in an accident in Arizona when someone rear-ended me. I didn't have my latest insurance card (stupid me, I had forgotten to put it in my wallet when I got it, and take out the old one). So, they whacked me with a fine. My ex and I had split up and I left to come back to RI, and I had totally forgotten about the citation. So, I went to get my RI license. Wasn't able to. Arizona had suspended my license. Arg.. lol.. So, I went ahead and paid it, and about 3 weeks later, I was able to get my license here in RI.
I'm not sure if they'd go that far for a speeding ticket, but just be careful.

Yes, it can catch up with you. They can do all kinds of crazy things with computers these days.

I moved back here and they issued me my liscence-that was 8 years ago. Then I needed to change my name after a divorce and they told me about it.But issued me my new one-after hey made me pay a fine I had for switched plates from 1988!!!!!!Rubberholes.Thank God the judge was lenient(and busy) when I went and fined me 40.00.

That is what precisely happened to me.I had a ticket in New Orleans and then moved to California.About a year and a half later,I got this letter in the mail, saying I had a bench warrant. So you gotta take care of these matters as soon as it happens.Originally Posted by MojoJojo link=board=1;threadid=12686;start=msg164122#msg164 122 date=1093505298

Yes, it catches up with you. Scorpio got a ticket in OR when he lived there years ago...paid it, but it never made it to the "computer". Last year he was pulled over for speeding and found out that he had a warrant for his arrest for the unpaid ticket...and that was AFTER he got his IL License. Cost us over a $1000 (bail, etc, etc, etc). If you have a ticket, it's just easier to pay it NOW instead of being arrested for trying to evade a government issued order.

Not to mention something like this can f*ck up your credit rating, too.

I was just going through some old papers, and I found a parking ticket from 2001. It was from a snow ban. I also found the notice they sent me when I casually blew it off.. They threatened to suspend my license, which of course, brought me right in there to pay for it. LOL.
So, your best bet is definitely to pay it off, so they don't try to bend you over in the future. They LOVE doing that whenever they can.
