Wow you ladies are making me feel bad for you. Im going to have to make sure i do well tipping my local dancers LOL. One thing I have definatly learned from this board is NJ is full of pathetic drunken perverted men. It must be. Because most strip clubs are 3 deep at the bar on a friday or saturday night. Guys handing women dollar after dollar just to get a peek or maybe get to feel a nipple LOL.
Well hope all you ladies make tons of cash this weekend. Just make sure when someone tips you this weekend you tell them " that better be a 10 don't make me call some friends from Jersey to put you in an oil drum buddy" LOL

My average on a night is about $200. I think that's pretty good considering I only get on stage 3-4 times a night within 7 hours. And I don't sell that many lap dances. My problem is we have too many girls at my club so I only get scheduled for two shits a week. I could make $400 a week at an office job. But I live in a fairly expensive area so it's really not that much money.

To further clarify the real cost of living differences between Small town middle America and the BIG Cities. I just bought a BRAND NEW 3000 sq ft. house on 5 Acres in rural Illinois. I paid cash: $150,000, but with a 30 year amortized mortgage the payments would have been $900 a month, RE tax and Ins. inclusive. What can you RENT in NYC for $900 a month? THIS is why some people choose to stay in a smaller depressed market earning less money. Also ... my 3000 VR4 is sitting in the driveway UNLOCKED with a $2000 stereo system in it ..... My sisters kids Walk to school everyday it doesn't snow and the cops don't need to ask for my DL and Ins. when they write me a ticket because they know my name ... Ins agent and address (Ok maybe this isn't a good thing). I Know my neices teachers name ...her husbands name ...her bosses name and the president of the school boards name along with thier favorite drink and dancer. Bottom line ... Ya just can't get that in the BIG CITY at any price. I would MUCH Rather earn 30K a year and live here than 250K a year in a Big City. Each to his/her own. You have to add up ALL the benefits and do ALL the math before you get the right answer and just like golf .... sometimes a lower score is good.

See I disagree. First because living in a populated area. I dont want everyone knowing my name and business. Second if you make 30 grand a year and go on vacation to an island and it costs 4000 bucks that leaves you with 26000 a year. If you live in a populated area and make 150k a year that leaves you with 146k after the vacation. LOL ill admit housing is expensive here ( average home in my area is like 600k this is why i have an apartment) I think its all relevant. .

Pazzo, I think what he (and I) are trying to say is that money just isn't as important. I agree with WULF that it is by far more important to me to know that my daughter is in a good school, I have a neighborhood with no crime to speak of other than the occasional shot deer out of season, or a drunk yelling at the top of his lungs at 3am on a Sat night.

Knock on wood I haven't seen a cop car out here in over a year. The last one was because a dog was running rampant in the neighborhood, and it was fairly agressive.

My house appraises at around $50,000. In a larger city it would easily go for two times that or more. Everything is cheaper here. I have 2 cars, and a motorcycle in my driveway and all of them have the keys in the ignition unlocked.

I might sacrifice more money, but I make up for it with peace of mind. I know my neighbors, hell I even like most of them. I also know if I ever need anything I can ask one of them for help. Can you say that?

Hell when I went to the ER at the 1st of this month (8 day hospital stay) it was around 11pm, my hubby called the neighbor and she watched our daughter till he came home. Do you know or trust any of your neighbors to do the same for you?

That's all we are trying to say, we might make less money, but the benifits (for me) are worth the potential income made somewhere else.

Well in my neighborhood you can do all of what you said but leave the keys in your car. Hell my town is so quiet they would call out a swat team to get a cat out of a tree. We hvae great public and private schools in our area. I guess the only difference is if you want to live in a nice quiet town where you can leave your kids with the neighbors you need money.
The other side is i grew up in an italian neighborhood. So not only can you leave your doors unlocked but you can leave your kids with anyone on the block especially since half of them you are related too LOL. i can see your point though. I just look at things a bit different right now. I am leaving this area soon. IM just going to stock pile the cash so when i move i can buy something in cash. i want to make sure when i move im set up for a long time and never have to worry about money again.

Pazzo--I think you are in agreement with these guys about money and the desire of many of us living in "nice" but expensive places to have a simpler life where retirement and daily enjoyment of family are within reach. Here in the Bay Area having a family and home and be able to enjoy them is very hard, especially on less than $200 a day. If I could make the same or more elsewhere off to the top of a mountain I'd go to enjoy life instead of my bills.

PS: we have plenty of drunk perverted men here in California to.

the nice thing about living in a more costly area is when you do decide to retire and sell. You can make good profits on it and are able to easily get a home for cash in a less expensive area.

I think there are perverted men everywhere. This is probably why i ahvent gone to strip bars too much. I don't mind looking at the beautiful ladies dancing. I mind the guys around you slobbering drool all over the place. LOL

Some people want to live in the big city. Some people don't. To live in the big city you need more money. To live in the country you need less money. The only right answer is what's right for YOU.

It all depends on how loud she moans and how think the walls are. if the walls are paper thin and shes a screamer than you need to move somewhere in the suburbs so the guys stop patting you on the back every morning in the elevator. LOL such a wise ass

If it makes you ladies feel any better the last 2 days in work i hvent made a dime.

Yes, but if you make $150k a year as opposed to $30k, Uncle Sam and your state Dept. of Revenue take a bigger bite of your paycheck too. In fact, state and local taxes (income, sales, and property alike) are often the highest in areas with high cost of living. Paying taxes, paying your rent/mortgage, buying consumer goods etc. are ongoing things that one can't avoid regardless of where they live. The $4000 vacation is always optional.

i agree with that except its sad but in some situations ytou can get tax breaks. to me a $4000 vacation is not optional its what keeps me from having the desire to reach out and strangle co workers.
to be honest having a good job allows me to be able to go on 3 or 4 nice vacations a year if i was only making 30k a year i wouldnt be able to do that.

Honestly, I've never in my career as a dancer made less than 250 a night. But I have never lived in less occupied parts of the country. I'm a city gal. Pazzo- Where are you going that it costs 4K each vacation?

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

i wne to a friends house in florida and stayed at his house for 5 days and managed to spend 2 grand. Aruba was like 4 grand im sure anywhere i go it would be about that much. Maybe 1200 - 200 for airfare rent a car and hotel. then you need at least 2 grand for spending. Im just guesstimating what a normal vacation would cost anyway.

It is very different at the clubs I work at as to compared to practically every single one of you ladies on the site....I only work 2 hours/ shift(no lap/table dances--strictly stage).....It is possible to walk out with anywhere bet $40-$600 in that two hours....Now the average is bet $40-150 a shift...Which isnt that appealing..but when you work 2-3 different clubs a night..it can add up...

I average b/t 150-300 a night working in a small topless bar. I'm happy with the money because It's a nice place to work at and because I'm not planning on doing this forever and am working towards a degree in communication studies. It I wanted to dance as a career, I think that I would travel into NYC (about an hour and a half from me) and try to make better money there.

if you are only 1 1/2 hours from new york city why dont you dance there on the weekends. If you are dancing you might as well make all the money you can when you are doing it.

I'm only about an hour from Phoenix, where I'm sure I could do better than my average, especially if I went up there on the weekends, but like icechic, I'm not looking for a career in dancing. For me, it is just a job that is helping me get through school. If I went up there on weekends, not only would it cost me in gas (I'm estimating somewhere around $20), but the drive would cost me an extra two hours where I'd be earning absolutely zilch. Plus the fact that I have other things to do on my weekends-like homework and time with my loved ones.
If I can make anything between $100-300 in a 4 hour shift during the weekday, I'm more than happy.

Hey ladies, thanks for your honest replies. It's nice to see that there are others in the same boat as me.
