Default Mosquito bites making me sick! help!

I woke up monday morning with my arms covered in mosquito bites. They were huge and getting bigger and bigger....
So I go to the doctor he gives me some zyrtec tells me to take some benadryl and then they would go down.

So, come the next morning I have new bites which are even more swollen.

They seeed to go down for a few day's then I woke up this morning at 5am throwing up and this continued untill about 9am.

I threw up around 5 times and was drenched in sweat with my teeth chattering. My boyfriend even tried to get me to go to the hospital but I was SO sick I could not even talk and when I did try to move i would almost throw up again.
I can honestly say this is probaly the sickest I have ever felt in my life. Like my body was actually fighting for my life.

Anyway, I took some flu med. which is why I am even out of bed right now.
And to make matters worse the mosquitos had a field day with me last night.
They got 14 bites on my left arm(which is so swollen and red that it looks like some sort of wierd rash)

11 bites on my right arm , several on my neck, my hands, nuckles and the worst one on my eyelid it's swollen.

I am kind of freaking out becouse I became so sick I am worried that the mosquito could have gotten me sick somehow.
Or is it possible that I am just highly allergic/sensitve to mosquitos and that's why all this is happening?

Has anyone had a similar reaction to mosquito's and if so how did you get the bumps to go down?
I have been taking beynadryl and putting cortisone cream and lotion on them but they are itching SOOO bad I feel like jumping out of my skin.
If anyone has any useful info. I would love to hear it.
    Thanks

    ok, some thoughts....

    DISEASE!
    http://www.bug-spray.org/2Mosquitoe.html
"West Nile, encephalitis, yellow fever, dengue, malaria, etc ."

I am not really bothered by mosqutoes. they dont bite me much, and when they do I normally dont have a reaction. If I do get one its a small (not even red) bump, normally on my hand or foot. what i do is to just (I know this sounds weird, but it works) lick it. and it doesnt itch, and the bump goes away within hours. for some reason on me my saliva counteracts the insect saliva.

    your symptoms:
bites were huge and getting bigger and bigger
    throwing up
    drenched in sweat
    teeth chattering
    could not even talk
when I did try to move i would almost throw up again

those symptoms dont sound like an allergy according to:
    http://www.aurorahealthcare.org/your...ctBite.html%22
    "Anaphylaxis
    · Anaphylaxis is the medical term for a severe life-threatening allergic reaction.
    · Symptoms of anaphylaxis include: feeling faint or passing out, difficulty breathing, swelling of the tongue, hives, wheezing and/or cough. Onset of symptoms is sometimes within seconds and usually within 20 minutes."

but then again everyone is diffrent....

your one symtom "when I did try to move i would almost throw up again" sounds like the flu......but....

    bad news:
    http://www.cdc.gov/travel/malinfo.htm
"Symptoms of malaria include fever and flu-like illness, including shaking chills, headache, muscle aches, and tiredness. Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea may also occur. Malaria may cause anemia and jaundice (yellow coloring of the skin and eyes) because of the loss of red blood cells." "For most people, symptoms begin 10 days to 4 weeks after infection, although a person may feel ill as early as 8 days or up to 1 year later."

    better, but not good news:
    http://health.yahoo.com/health/cente...e_virus/5.html
"Milder Symptoms in Some People. Up to 20 percent of the people who become infected will display symptoms which can include fever, headache, and body aches, nausea, vomiting, and sometimes swollen lymph glands or a skin rash on the chest, stomach and back. Symptoms can last for as short as a few days, though even healthy people have been sick for several weeks."

the problem with disease is that your body treats them all preaty much the same... so they all have similar symtoms, seriously, look up malease as a symptom, its preaty much everywhere, along with vomiting, and especilly fatigue......

so basicly I agree with your boyfriend, go see another doctor.... this doesnt seem normal.

and for future refrance, deet is a chemical, and can kill you as well as the skeeters, I prefer pennyroyal, it grows like a weed, can easily be rubbed on skin, is waaaaayyyy safer then deet, and much cheaper. infact if anyone wants a cutting of mine just pm me your address..... also eating garlic will repel bugs as well as people. theres more, but thats where it gets complicated.........

These pests give a host of illness. Anything from major itching, and swelling to life threatening disease.

However, you can be allergic to the bites, and your body is reacting to this. You have recieved many many bites, and this will posion your system for a time.

I had a friend who was wicked allergic to fleas, vomit body ache etc. I never knew this could happen.

I would see what is going on hun. And are you sure your getting mosquito bites? Do you see them?

yes are you positive they're mosquito bites? Could they be spider bites?

Although I got chewed up royally last night too. Not quite as bad as you I've only got 5 bites on each leg and a couple on one arm. I know they're mosquitos because I keep slapping them. I've never experienced a reaction like yours though.

I worked in a club that didn't believe in air conditioning and it was on a peninsula. I got bombarded by misquitoes when I worked :o

I was getting them on face. It was really embarassing because they looked like big, red, ugly zits

I went to my derm, (I wasn't really getting sick or cold like symtoms) and she said that B-complex vitamins on a regular basis make your blood taste sour. This chases the "biting bugs" away.

I now swear by it I have maybe been bitten three times this year...and not on my face!! I used to wear Skin So Soft repellent from head to toe. It was really stinging on my face and neck, but it was necessary.

The B-complex really works for me. However, get those symtoms checked. They sound kinda severe.

    Cheers and good luck,

Corey, I'm so glad you posted that. The bugs in this neck of the woods are pretty prolific and I swear they follow me around. I'm going to try the B vitamin complex until fall rolls around.

I bought this all natural repellant, (very sensitive to stuff) called Buzz Away. It smells pleasant. Avail. @ quantumhealth.com, or 800-448-1448. I think some people are more susceptable. I know the worst I've experienced, was during my period. Got bit talking to someone, while I was sitting in a car. I mean all over, looked like I had the measles. Try some Kyolic garlic pills, vit. C, Echineacha. As was said, pls. go to Dr. Take care

The speed of reaction suggests an allergic reaction rather than a disease transmittal. People are allergic to all kinds of insect bites and stings. Consult medical personnel to mitigate symptoms. Allergies are the bodies overreaction to bad things. Allergies can also be cumulative so they are not good things to under-rate. Next time could be worse and getting it treated will at least possibly help the next time.

An item to consider for the future (of personally unknown effectiveness) is a sonic deterrent. It is lightweight (works on unheard frequencies) and I have seen them in keyrings for $5. Again, I do not know if they work. The deet agents work but may be overkill or messy in many circumstances.

maybe thats why they dont like me....

we keep our balcony door open all the time, no screen or anything, mostly because the screen sucks to use and the cats like to go out, so do we actually.... anyway since i live so far north the only bugs I see fly in are flys mostly, occasinally a bee will fly in then out right away, and near dusk my husband says he gets bitten.... but so far this year I have only had 2 bites that I can recall... one is on my finger right now. its just a bump, no redness or anything...
