I am 18. and I just wanted to know if clubs hire at that age
sure , a lot of clubs do. at least around here, all the clubs hire at 18. as long as your working , you can be in a bar.
Well, here, at 18, you can work at a "juice bar" club...if you want to work in a full liqour club, then you need to be 21. What state do you live in?
I live in Salt Lake City- and it has been hard for me to find anything out about different clubs because no one here will admit going to them
Maybe you should try calling the clubs... Don't tell them your age, just ask at what age they start hiring girls. That's what I did, and I only found a couple clubs that would even look at me, since I am 19... Anyway, good luck!
Same here, it's been kind of difficult finding a good club because I'm under 21. But like mycullyfrog said, call the club first and ask. What's the worst that can happen?
I'm also under 21, and theres a club around my area thats always hiring 18+ and I plan to check out sometime next week.
Lots of clubs hire 18 year old girls, but a lot of dancers would suggest to wait it out a bit. Others would say to start right away so you can save money and do what you have to do.
Either way its your choice. Good luck...![]()
Yes, alot of clubs hire 18+ year olds. Please be careful not to be naive about the business though. You have to use your brain when making decisions. Also think about what you are comfortable with.
I have met many 18 - 19 year olds during my "career". Some make the wrong choices, while others are very smart about their choices.

I'm 19 and working in a bar. It all depends on local laws. Go ahead and call around. Don't be shy!!
Because there ain't no tits on the radio

I was 17 when I started.
One of woman's cardinal rule: Body parts can be fake, everything else has to be real.

中国大CHINESE BIG BOOBS!!!中国大
The club I work at you have to be 18 and over to work there, just can't drink, and you have to wear some sort of colored wrist band when you're working, I guess to identify you as under 21....
Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's rain
My club hires 18+ and, wow, do some of those poor girls make stupid decisions.
Then again, I work alongside some amazingly mature 18 and 19 year olds and some alarmingly foolish women in their mid thirties.
You never know.
I know a girl from here, Wisconsin, that started when she was under 18.
Just go to some clubs and see what they say.

I started dancing when I was 18 at one of the largest clubs in my area..... I don't know if all states are 18 to dance, but in Georgia that's the law. Good luck!!!![]()
If you want to come to CA, it's 18 here; although i know you can work easily in NY, IL, and FL at 18. I hear in canada you only have to be 16, as well.
...and the day came, when the risk it took to remain closed in a bud became worse than the risk it took to blossom.
I think your to young please be careful it can be real rough. Hugs![]()

Well, Im 18 and live in NY and plan on auditioning today maybe
but anyways, I think that being so young it makes us more 'susceptible' (for lack of better word) to the bad parts of the business (drugs, 'extras', etc) because we don't have the knowledge an older, more experienced person might have.
However, I also think that there are some young dancers that have the right mind set to use the job to their advantage and do not get caught up in the "glamour" of the job, and are able to use the "get in- get out" type mentality quite well- being theyre there just to get a certain amount of money over time and once they meet their goals they get out of the business..
but yeah, sorry for rambling..
I guess overall what Im saying is that I personally do not think its the age that makes you 'too young' because age is just a number...I think its how mature you are mentally that makes you wise enough to handle the business and not get sucked into the wrong things
just my 2 cents![]()

The number #1 selling porn on the internet is teen porn.
Look at the average age of the playboy centerfold.
Look at the average age of the cover models on Vogue and cosmo.
Being 18 isnt a disadvantage in this industry. It sounds like you have the right attitude and moxy to use it to your advantage while you can.
they are right, the young ones make the biggest mistakes. But thats in just about anything in life.
Give um hell, manage your time and money well, and best of luck.
i started out when i was 17 at a full bar club
theres always a way around it
In New Zealand, you've have to be 18 to drink and I thought 18 to strip, but as it turns out you can be as young as 16 to strip (it happened in my home town, and I only just found out about it), but the club concerned got done because it violated the education act (the stripper concerned was still in school). However I managed to get an exemption at 15, to leave school to study design. Therefore at 16 (the age of consent in New Zealand AND the age you can leave school, by permission) I could've been making a mint, as I didn't start til I was 18. Damn damn damn, many fine years wasted. I could've been 2 years closer to retiring!! Argh, oh well...

Ok i got a problem with this!!!!!!!!Originally Posted by foxette link=board=25;threadid=12859;start=msg175750#msg17 5750 date=1095269558
Not with you.
But i got a problem with 15 16 and 17 year old entertainers.
hell if it were up to me,someone would have to be 21!
cripes,i cant even fathom working with a staff of 16 year old entertainers!!!
Bet the drama in the dressing room would be so high....
errrrr middle school!

There are women in their 30s that do the middle school thing too (I'm sure you know this!)!Originally Posted by BigGreenMnM link=board=25;threadid=12859;start=msg175769#msg17 5769 date=1095273312
16 does seem young, especially since the legal age of majority is 18 here in the states, but it is all relative. There will always be those that are more mature and those that are less.

I dont think it is permitted at 16 in canada since you have to be 18 to go to a bar ??? But i'm not sure it seems kinda young !
If the drinking age in Canada is 18, like in New Zealand, then surely 16 & 17 year olds can be in them AS LONG as they are working, but not actually serving alcohol. It may be the same in some states-- you can work in a full service bar (18+) as long as you are not actually pouring the alcohol yourself. Ie: you can waitress/strip/busboy whatever. You may wanna check your state regulations on this.
