    Default Review: Lil'Mynx Pole

Well, I got my pole the other day and I got it set up and gave it a spin or two.......or 20. hehe

I really like it. I got the regular removable pole (not the new spinning one) from Lil Mynx in the black powder coat finish. I also got the optional friction ceiling attachment so that I didn't have to use the hook thing (although it does come with the pole), and the floor pad for use on hardwood or tile flooring, and the studfinder they have listed.

The pole and the ceiling friction pad work great. Very nice level of stability. I'm not worried about it all crashing down and that's great. It's amazing how it all works so well without actually being "attached" to anything.

Setup was really simple once I found the ceiling stud. (even with the friction mount you still need to be under a stud or the pole stability will be compromised and you can mess up your ceiling) The stud finder I got from their site was a total piece of shit!!! But then that's what I get for being cheap and ordering it from them for $12. I ended up having to borrow one from my step-dad. But anyways Like I said setting it up was easy after that part.

It only took me five minutes. You just screw on the pads for the base, stick the friction ceiling mount on the top of the pole, press the top against the ceiling, and slide it into place. Very easy.

It might take longer if you have a ceiling with an odd height, like 8'7" or something. The ceiling in our apartment is exactly 8' and the pole was shipped to me with the slider tube at it's lowest point (set to fit 8&#039 and so I didn't have to adjust that part.

Overall I'm very impressed with my new pole. And I would definitely reccomend it. If you want one you can find them at:

P.S. If anyone has any other questions about the pole or how to set it up, I'll be happy to answer them.

I bought a black pole from them last December before they had the friction only mounts. I was curious as to how much force it could handle without coming loose.
I would also like to know if anyone has compared their brass poles to the powder coated colored poles- specifically, which is "grippier" painted or brass?

The friction mount can withstand the same weight as the standard mount: 250 lbs.

I'm not sure but I think the powder coated poles are "grippier"

How much does one of these cost. I want one for me bedroom. LOL although 250 lb limit seems excessive. No way I want some woman 250 lbs swinging from any pole in my room. Of coarse 2 women totaling 250 lbs is ok. =)

250 lbs hanging straight up and down isn't the same as 250 lbs coming at the thing full force and doing a spin. I was curious as to how much force it could handle in a lateral direction. Do you feel safe doing more "ambitious" moves?

LMAO. Well, I was just trying to point out some laws of physics. I'm pretty petite, but can put quite a bit of force on the pole. As far as the 250 lb woman - running away would probably be more effective than consulting a priest.

It stands up to doing all of the moves that a regular pole would handle. I won't spend almost $400 for a piece of tubing. I got my pole from a metal worker and bought flanges...cost me a whole $50.

And, to answer someone else's question...the brass is better than the painted poles. If it's grip you're looking for, you always want to go with brass...the next best thing is aluminum (brushed aluminum) and then the painted.

P.S. The $364.00 that I spent includes shipping and handling. Forgot to mention that earlier.
