I've never had good experiences with Compaq's, either....and I agree with your latter statement as well. Truly, to each their own. I once read "Mac people like macs for the same reason PC people do not." Works for me.

For a second I got my hopes up thinking you'd come to the realization that I was a hot beeyatch who'd make ya moan and scream and that you were ready to declare your lesbionic luv for me!JK...
Anywho...My next computer will be a Mac. I really hate PC's. I use one now, don't like it.
Besides, nothing wrong with having a good computer that's actually purty!
"She has written so well, and marvellously well, that I was completely ashamed of myself as a writer...But this girl, who is to my knowledge very unpleasant and we might even say a high-grade bitch, can write rings around all of us who consider ourselves as writers"
Ernest Hemingway on writer, aviation pioneer and horse trainer Beryl Markham
I think stuff made with macs do look better. I upgraded to OSX and haven't had a crash. But I've been thinking of getting a laptop with windows. I love my computer but a lot of things aren't made for macs and that's frustrating.
True.Mac people like macs for the same reason PC people do not.
And I don't know a graphic designer that does use a Mac. Times have changed. A lot.Every graphic designer I know uses a Mac.
Supported by Adobe, no less.I have yet to run into something that a Mac can do that a PC cannot regarding everything, including graphics. According to the graphics artists I know, this is supported.

That said, the G5 series of systems are the type of machines Macolytes should have had a couple years ago. They're competent, potent performance systems and with OSX, Apple finally has a real operating system. It's a good time to be an Apple user, frankly.
It's stuff like this that makes me love being on this site. How many nerdy threads on computer newsgroups would have something that hot, and yet, believable? For a second I got my hopes up thinking you'd come to the realization that I was a hot beeyatch who'd make ya moan and scream and that you were ready to declare your lesbionic luv for me!

Idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality, the costs become prohibitive.

I'll stick with dell.
I am also ambidextrous with my computer usage, they both have their place in my eyes.
Quite frankly, XP is the dirty dirty whore of operating systems and I have had nothing but trouble with it...I am fairly computer literate, and for "user-friendly software" there sure are a lot of bugs to iron out, I'd hate to see people who don't know a thing about computers trying to function along with it (Ohhh wait, like 90% of PC owners). I also find it ironic that Mac keeps making faster and faster processers, when really there isn't that much of a need for them...who games on a mac? Not the general gaming populus...and yet, they boast that their computers are fast enough to handle really graphic intense games
???
Whatever, I just thought it was hot, I am typing on my boring old grey PC box as we speak, as I am 90% of the time that I am on here...while simultaneously updating Norton for the umpteenth time...Installing some new non-automatic Automatic updates and struggling with 3, not 2, not 1 but 3 different spyware programs for many seperate bugs on my computer. ..not to mention coming across a few new trojans and dialers every month. AAAAGH, That was a nice rant mojo...but I could kick it's royal ass by doing a PC version, and i could probably out argue his bad points about Mac right off the top of my head. It really is a matter of preference and opinion, and both have good and bad qualities...nuff said.
PS: I happened to LIKE the handle on the 1st and 2nd Gen iMacs thank you very much!
PPS: But not the stupid round mouse.
PPPS: Okay, i'm done now.
PPPPSSSS: now that was a convincing argument.
