Wow.. Alright.. Some of you may remember that my daughter was rushed to the ER a couple weeks back with a very high fever. Luckily, she got over it and got rid of whatever it was.
My Ex-Husband and his new wife (well, not really new, about 5 years now) rushed their little girl to the hospital recently, she was just a couple months shy of her 4th birthday. Her fever had spiked to 106 while at the hospital. After bloodwork and various tests, the doctors came to the conclusion that it was bacterial, and that nothing more could be done for her. My ex and his wife signed her out and took her home, and figured they would just give her children's motrin throughout the night, and it would clear up. She was dead the next morning. She died sometime in the night, laying right there between them.
I just can't believe it. My older 2 children lost a sister. They're dealing with it the best that they can, but it's extremely difficult.
I couldn't help but break down and cry when I heard this. Not only because it could have been my daughter, but for my other daughter & son. I'm not particularly fond of the new wife, but I can't even begin to imagine what she's going through. She has to bury her little 3 year old daughter.
I guess we are extremely lucky that Delia turned out alright. It's just a really really small world. I couldn't believe it when I heard, that it was the same type of thing that we had rushed Delia in for.
Guess I just had to get this out. Thanks for listening.
