    Default Other NYC clubs?

I'm going to be in NYC visiting friends this October. Besides PEC - which sounds like a great club to work in, but difficult to get hired by - are there other clubs people are happy with?

I know the summer has been slow for everyone, will it be better by mid-October? Or should I wait until even later in the year to audition?

I've checked the club reviews but would appreciate any extra info. people could send this way.

Also, when I audition, should I tell clubs that I'm only there visiting? Should I not tell them anything? If it ends up being worth my while, I can see travelling up every other month or so for a week at a time. How should I handle this?
    TIA

Scores is a good club. A lot of celebs go there too.

Well you could try Scores, Hustler, Scores West, Paradise, Priveledge, Ten's, VIP (though stay out of the private rooms here unless you are with someone you know), Private Eyes.

The only clubs that I have worked in were Tens, VIP, Scores, and PEC. Ten's has little money there anymore, VIP has extras going on in the private rooms and kinda sketchy managers. If it was me and I didn't want to work at PEC for whatever reason, I'd either go to Scores or Hustler.
And I would tell them that you are only there visiting, cause you don't ever want to burn any bridges if you like the money there and want to come back.

Is every NYC club topless? I'm assuming all are.

You should go on http://www.xtrememagazine.com/ or pick up one of their magazines at a strip club. This will show you a list of all the clubs in nyc, jersey, connecticut, etc. Everyone is telling you to do the right thing with Scores, PEC, VIP, Ten's, Privilege, Private Eyes, Flashdancers, etc. There are a couple of nude clubs in Manhattan besides Stilletto, like Carosel (I walked in there and declined an audition 'cause it looked kinda dirty) and NY Dolls-which is owned by the same people who run Flashdancers and Private Eyes. A good nude club-if that's what you are looking for would not be in Manhattan-Stilletto upstate (it's like an hour drive from the city) I've heard is pretty good and a couple of the juice bars in Jersey I've heard were also good. I would STAY AWAY from Queens, Brooklyn and the two nude clubs in the Bronx. The clubs look gutter and the crowd is worse. When I first started dancing in NY, I took a look at a couple clubs in Queens (Wiggles, High Heels, Scandals, Phenomenon) and that was an experience in itself. They either take too much money off your dances, every dude is like eleven-teen and trying to bag a stripper, or all the girls in there are kicked so no dudes come in at all. Brooklyn and the nude clubs in the Bronx (Sexy Dancer, the Wedge) I never went to, but I knew a couple guys that would go and said they were "pimp-ho spots." However, Manhattan does not cater to bigger boned women. I went into Flashdancers a year and a half ago visiting and they hired me. I put on some pounds during the winter when I moved to NY, came back six months later and the guy told me to start at Private Eyes because I needed to tone up and lose some weight. :o (At the time I was 5'8, 145) but that is kinda tubby. So anways, I hope this all helps. That's my Good Luck

Have you checked www.stripclublist.com ? It gives info on stripclubs worldwide.

I have to agree with you there Pan Dah, Stripclublist.com is a good resource to find clubs' addresses, phone numbers and websites. But I find it's hard to get a general idea of what the club is like, atmosphere, management, earning potential etc. from the extremely subjective experiences of the posters. However, I always check the comments anyway, sometimes someone will post a fairly good review of the club, you never know...Again, thanks for the help!

Would it just be cheaper to stay in Newark, NJ and take the train (subway/bus/etc) into the city? Especially if you were staying a week or so?

    Hey girls,

I've been at Ten's off and on since I was 19, I'm 22 now and I have to say, stay the hell away. It used to be a really great club, and now the girls are getting dirtier and dirtier, and no one says or does a fucking thing. I'm a clean/sweet kinda dancer and I almost always used to make money, and I stopped working there because it is getting so damn grimey. You can't even have a decent conversation with a customer without another dancer stalking them. It's been slow.

It's funny, I remember reading on the boards here a few months ago when girls were slamming Ten's doe going downhill, and I stuck up for the club because they had always treated me with dignity & respect.

Last night I went in to clean out my locker, and when I was leaving, there was a dancer a the bar straddling a customer, both feet off the ground, grinding as hard as she could. This may seem like nothing, but in Ten's, just sitting on the arm of a customer's chair used to be reason for getting fired. Wearing shoes with an inch platform was reason for getting fired. Letting the cover-up fade off your tattoos was reason to be fired.

In the past 2 months, I've had 2 men whip their dicks out in Champagne (only ONE got kicked out because I threw a fit) and seen much, much more than I'd like to in terms of "extras." I'm not sure what's up with management. They used to be really careful, now they just seem worn the hell out. I still do think they're good people, it just seems like they're headed fast towards rock bottom. Or at least, a kind of Ten's-caliber rock bottom. I haven't seen a celebrity inside since a year and a half ago, same goes for pro athletes.

I'm not sure where I'm gonna work, if I'm going to keep dancing or not, but if I were you, I'd go to PEC or Scores, maybe Hustler. I've heard that there's money there, though the whole Hustler chain situation seems quite sketchy.

Best of luck to you, and stay clean!

I hope you cashed out all of your "golden dollars" before you left? If not, you're pretty much screwed. . . I've been badgering them to cash out mine since October (yes, that's right- LAST October,) and have yet to get it all. Calling and visiting them has become like my part time job. And it's not like it was ever THAT much either. . . they just operate on the hope that you'll give up and they'll get to keep your money.

It's happened to tons of traveling strippers over the years, and I swore it wouldn't happened to me, but once they started accepting only $200- $300 cash-out three nights a week (which you were required to work) it was impossible!! RARELY did anyone at Ten's ever pay me in cash.

Stay away, stay far, far away!!!!

As for the train question, I'm pretty sure that trains don't run too frequently outta the city later at night. Also, not very safe. And Jersey hotels anywhere near NYC are gonna still be expensive.

On Travelocity etc you can find hotels for about $100 a night in Morningside Heights (Columbia University area/Upper West Side/Western Harlem). Western Harlem is pretty safe, Eastern Harlem above about 110th st gets sketchy.

That's scary. All that stuff you mentioned is all the stuff I do not want to see, deal with either. Good luck to you.

[Mercedes!!! So cool to hear from you last night (even if it was 2am). Tracy/Patrice has been at Scores East and West all year. Sad about Ten's but I saw that coming. Half the girls at Scores seem to have worked there at some point and quite a few from PEC as well. Sometimes a bunch of us get together to reminisce about the good old days at Ten's when the money was good, everything was clean and you could have a blast in a safe environment (almost comfort zone). All good things come to an end.
I went to the PEC in February to audition and the guys there told me to come back to audition cause at the time they were trying to get rid of some girls, not hiring. I went to Scores instead. The money there has been good but I know of a few really good customers who won't go there because they've been worked over. No matter. You make the best of those you have and there are always lots of fresh ones.
