Curious, how tight is security at your job? This is one of my main concerns about the place I choose to dance at. I've been thinking alot about stories i've heard in the past, like ppl sneaking in weapons & things like that inside a club. I even think that a strip joint is the easiest place to stick up. Scary huh.

The Jackpot Clubs and few others down in Houston have metal detectors. They all have a security guard or two in the parking lots, most carrying guns. Two or so bouncers per club also. There are no metal detectors in the Dallas clubs, except one i think, as far as i can remember.

I work in a fairly small club, and there are four large bouncers who actually know what they're doing. There's another in the parking lot. They walk us out to our cars.

I worked in one club where the security was so tight that the lot guys would take our cars and park them at a nearby hotel, business park, etc., so that no one would figure out what we drove, and then they would take us in carfuls to our cars at the end of the night.

When I was a newbie, I was leaving a club one night and noticed there was a dancer standing at the end of the sidewalk. I stopped and said, "Do you need a ride somewhere?" Just being the friendly typical person that I am, not realizing the implications. She said, "YEAH! Hang on, I'll cancel the cab and get my friend!" (It was a good thing, too, because they had NO idea where their hotel was and wanted to go south on the highway, but I knew the hotel by their description, and it was North). Anyway...one of them said, "So what do you do at the club?" Uh....nothing. I'm a patron. The girl in the back smacked the girl in the front in the head. That's when I thought, "Shit...yeah I guess this could look bad." As they found out, however, the ride was entirely safe and I of course never did anything quite so stupid, again.

Well, I do plenty of stupid things...but not that one.

    EDIT: Oh yeah...my point...BAD SECURITY!

At my club we have a pretty good crew of bouncers that are very watchful and protective and always escort you to your car and wait for you to pull out. Yeah, it sucks because you never know who may walk into your club or what may happen. I do know that for my own added security, If you try to kill me, "say hello to my little friend"...I have a permit and I own a glock and I won't go down without a fight. And if I don't happen to have my gun, your not going to like this little blonde, I took 5 years of martial arts and 2 years of self defense..
