    Default Olive oil

:oWow! Has anyone else thought of using olive oil on their skin and hair? It's my new miracle oil! First I put it on my hair after reading an article about natural products. I SOAKED my hair before I went to sleep, putting a plastic hair cap on. Then before I took a shower in the morning I rubbed some all over. It took some washing to get it out of my hair and even then my hair seemed to have a little residue left but my hair hasn't been this healthy since I was like 13 before I ever dyed it. My hair usually feels like a horses tail. Horribly coarse. But now it looks great. My skin is also so soft and usually I have dragon scales.
I've had expensive hair spas and skin treatments and a 2 dollar bottle of virgin olive oil beats them all.
I guess my only suggestion woud be not to use it every day because I'm guessing too much oil in your hair would start to make it greasy. OH and be careful, it makes your battub slippery!!!!!

Yes, from time to time, I saturate a cotton ball with it and apply it on my legs! It makes them super soft! This is an ancient trick..

Heard of this...some products now sold contain, L'Occitane, (french line), um I think Fredrick Fekkai hair line has, & a line of skin prods. sold by Sly stallone's wife, can't think of name, sold on HSN, & ulta. another skin care line too, can't think of name. Also, Donatell Versace says she uses. I have read avacado oil is better, gets in b/c molecule is smaller. I tend to prefer not using home made, for the reason it seems to be harder to wash out.

I'v mixed olive oil and seasalt into a scrub and have used it in the shower before to exfoliate and moisturize at the same time. My skin ends up feeling soft and smooth.

I haven't used the sea salt but I have mixed it with sugar for a body/face scrub. It's cheap and it rocks!

I love it on my face/hair/skin. Everywhere. I don't even buy olive oil products I just use it straight out of the bottle.

hint: I think it's the best makeup remover for after work. Then I just wash my face with regular cleanser.

Yep. I'm currently using Olive Oil- I've bought so many expensive products for my hair (botched due to chlorine and the sun and heat) and this is the only thing that is working wonders on my hair.

I just bought some Avacado oil at Whole Foods today for hair & skin. Will let you know how it is. Although, I have used prod. containing it on my hair, & LUVD it. Btw, someone mentioned using for eye makeup remover, I've heard it can clog tear ducts.

when olive oil is listed as an ingredient, it's also called squalene (I'm pretty sure)

I use it too on my skin. I used to use it in my hair before I had dreadlocks. I've been using Ozoneated Olive Oil (basically olive oil with extra oxygen and it's solidified and has to be kept in the freezer) for a few months on my skin and think it has faded the fine lines I had around the corners of my eyes. Some people say that drinking a small glass of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil daily and / or appliying it to your skin will prevent wrinkles.

Quick silly question: does anyone know if putting olive oil in your hair can interfere with hair dye/highlights?

I've heard hot oil treatments can strip hair of coloring, and I just spent $100 on highlights so I'd be sad if olive oil did the same thing!

Sexy J = I've heard it does. A couple beauticians have told me this. Not, the highlights, but the color, mostly. I just use small amt. of avacado oil on my very ends

I don't think it's just olive oil but any really deep conditioner used regularly will fade the lovely and expensive color out of your hair. Have you ever noticed that the color protecting shampoos/conditioners just aren't quite as moisterizing?
