depends. Do you carry your weight well? Are you confident? Can you work a pole? If yes, to ANY (preferably 2out of3) of these... then I say: anywhere.
One place that comes to mind is the Clermont Lounge in Atlanta, GA.
This place is a landmark in Atlanta, and a place where a "big girl" can actually have a decent chance at doing well.
There are several girls there in the size range you mentioned. In fact, a size 6 would actually seem out of place there.
The customers who go there, know what it's all about and what to expect. They look for girls who just know how to have fun and have a good time.
If you can't win. Make the fellow in front of you break the record.
What Playboy said. The way you carry your weight, and also the way you carry yourself are big factors in how well you'll do in the business. I have known quite a few bigger girls who have done very well, and some that haven't. The latter lacked the confidence. They weren't comfortable in their own skin, and it showed.
It definitely wouldn't hurt to try out at a few places.
Good luck to you hon.

I even know a few really hot looking girls that don't make much (nearly what they could) because of this.sad.
Bottom line, if you feel sexy you'll look sexy!
Some kinda chunky girls are hot! It's not the bod, really, but more the attitude.
I say: can I get an' AMEN. *amen* hal-i-f*ckin'-lu-yah baby!Originally Posted by Madcap link=board=25;threadid=13150;start=msg171466#msg17 1466 date=1094606518

ooooooooooooooooooo
I should shut up on this one!!!!!
not gonna do it!!!!!
"fat dancers"to begin with is a terrible term when describing an entertainer with the balls to get on stage.I would go with "fitness challenged"or "Volup2us"<sp>.
I knew a entertainer once, her name was Heather. She was a mix of marylynn monroe and anna nichole smith, all rolled up into a short stubby body.Man she was fat,but a kind of solid fat.
When she got on stage, half the guys would leave the stage and crack abusive jokes. The other half would sit there like they had seen the 2nd comming of cripes!
In decades, she is the only one i have seen who ruled her world. She was without a doubt,The shit.Big ole gonna rock your friggin world kinda shit!
Outside of her,i have seen countless "fitness challenged"females on stage. Some tone up and start making money and upgrade to better money clubs, the rest stay fat and stay in the dives for pennies.
Some guys like fat,but most dont.ask playboy/penthouse/cosmo/vogue etc.
Work out and do this as the best you can be.An entertainer who doesnt work out or go to a gym is like a race car that never goes to pit row.
Good luck!
BTW.Dancing on stage, regardless of the number of people in the room, can be used as a workout in itself.

Sorry, but many clubs out there simply will not hire a dancer who tops 200 lbs. And that's what a US size 26 comes out to, sometimes more.
It's one thing to not be a size 2. I have certainly seen dancers that are curvy bank. But I have NEVER seen a dancer weighing more than 200 lbs. I know they exist, but not any clubs that I've ever worked at. I've never worked in dumps, but I've worked in clubs where they are more lenient about what defines perfection.
There are some men that like fat women. And I'm sorry, but size 26/28 is fat, not "curvy", "Rubenesque", "big boned" or whatever other euphemism you prefer. Fat. However, the men that like women this large are in the minority and most club managers, and dancers, know that.
My completely honest advice? Don't worry about seeking out the small number of places that will hire someone that large. Get into a gym and tone up. Cut your fat and calorie intake. In a few months, that will give you a much broader choice of places to work in.
Honeygymgirl managed to do it. It was hard work, but she looks and feels great now and really enjoys her dancing job.

hell yeah it is. I swear, I've lost like 10 lbs. since I got the pole for my bedroom. Not only do I break a sweat... I let loose a flood!Originally Posted by BigGreenMnM link=board=25;threadid=13150;start=msg171516#msg17 1516 date=1094611281
Best workout EVER! hands down. no contest. Gravity makes for the best weight.

I personaly have never seen a dancer over 150, maybe size 12-14 max, and they were all taller by the way, and these girls were all solid, not jiggly at all. so it all depends on your body type, if the girl has a great personality, and can carry herself with confidence, then people will feel it as well... but I know at my club the largest girl is 145 and she is 5'5". the smallest is 4'11" and I would say 90lbs. and they honestly make about the same $$$$ (from what I have heard through conversations)
I agree Nina, sorry hun. But the club I work at will not hire you either. As a matter of fact, I had to loose 50lbs before I got hired. Even with 8 1/2 yrs of ep, and working for some of the best clubs in the country. I hate to be mean or rude about it. But honestly I think you will be really hard pressed to find anywhere (not including dives) that will hire you.
As for the comment from Heart, I do know one girl where I work that is 5'9" and weighs about 175lbs. But she also has only 12% body fat and she's a body bulider and does all the competitions. Sorry guys, but her biceps are probably bigger than most of yours. LOL
Anyway, if you really want to dance, work out more cut your fat, sugar, and sodas. Drink tons of water, and eat good for you food. I did it, so can you. BTW, I have had 4 kids 1 c-section, and I came back from having multiple kidney surgeries.

Every market has its niches, but the niche for over 200 pounds isn't large enough to justify the downside for other niches. I've seen slender beauties on the same stage with a 160, and guys wouldn't go near the stage.
I have seen some woman that are not "9's or 10's" make alot more money than the ones that are. It all comes to your self image. If you are happy and comfortable with yourself than go with it.
For example, I have personally experienced the remarks from customers that do not like a large chest (36 DDD). But these same men tipped and bought dances from a girl with not curves. At other times the coin flipped the other way.

I've worked with several bigger dancers. The biggest one I've known (maybe 225lbs) was one of the top earners at our club.

Sorry but you say your a size 28!!! Thats really big and the girls who are saying oh sure
you can do it are giving you false hopes. There is a big difference between a size 12 which is chubby and a size 28.

I would protest the hiring of a size 28.
It would clear perv row and the stage seats each time she went up.The next girl on rotation would dance at an empty stage.
When the guys get up for a reason like that, this is also when alot of them start to think of the clubs down the road, and leave.
Its a huge room speedbump each time a less then qualified entertainer gets on stage. This cost everyone there money.
More and more clubs are starting to set standards. What are those standards and who sets them???
Not me.
Im as in touch with what they are as the next guy,and i have been wrong before, but i dont think it includes a size 28.
Would the miss america padgent allow a size 28??
Ummm...just wondering...what country are you asking about? In the States, a size 28 is HUGE...however, in some European countries, a size 28 is about "average".
I think this is a troll post.

But then why register a while ago and wait so long to start posting? Most trolls like to get going right away on the![]()

NO.
I personally work with a size 24 and she maks A LOT!
no, I do NOT work at a "dive" there are only about 3-4 girls who do extras and the big-un is NOT one of them.
She owns the stage, and knows just what to do to drive all the guys crazy. She's got a cute face, and a style that works for her and her weight.
A lot of people (myself included) don't even know that a large girl can really get them going. This is becasue MOST if not ALL large girls have ZERO confidence. And to run into one who does is VERY rare, yet somehow very sexy.

Unfortunately I have to agree. From personal experience I've seen that clubs don't want to hire even kinda big girls let alone really big girls. I've gone to auditions before and been turned down by 5 clubs in a row. I'm 5'8" and at the time I weighed about 140 lbs. I wasn't even close to being what most people consider fat, and yet I couldn't get hired. TG I think you should spend some time working out and watching wha you eat before you try to audition. You'll have much better luck that way.
wow. that sucks. I'm sure that's the reality of it. Wouldn't know, I'm one of the size 1's.I guess I'm just saying, if you DO find a place make the most of it. Being fat shouldn't get in the way.

I think so also. This is probably just bait to get the flames fanned.Originally Posted by Katrine link=board=25;threadid=13150;start=msg171880#msg17 1880 date=1094677528
