    Default Hair, botch'd update

Hey, all. Jus' lettin' you all know, got the hair fixed, somewhat. Went to downtown (Chi.) to my fav cosmetic & prod. store. Since I had an hr. on park meter, stopped in a salon I had prev. gone to for yrs. for color. Once written up in Allure. Anyway, had a consultation, & decided to go for it. Had to wait an total 45 min, includ. charming beer truck guys to move up a bit to get prime parking meter spot in front of salon. But, hair turned out GREAT! Still not 100% to the way it was, but it will take time, outgrowing, conditioning, etc. Still w/hats & scarves, very warm here tempwise, direct sun here, lately. They put on a "gloss" to darken slightly, (overhighlighted bleach/botch job in a diff. salon) then deep conditioner w/heat lamp. Ran into salon owner, who remembered me, & we chatted a bit. They have another one closer to where I live, (3 total) but again, parking might be iffy. Still, I will be goin' back THERE. They are very into making sure everything is perfect.

I am glad your hair problem is getting resolved. I went to the Vitamin Shoppe yestreday and purcahsed a bottle of Jojoba oil. As I read the back and discovered it can also be used to protect hair from sun damage I immediately thought about you. Maybe you should give it a try.

Hey, Farrah. I do have some avacado oil, which is light. But, according to some research, & a couple sylists, oil can strip color from hair, & depending on hair type, can be too heavy/greasy. I might put a dab on ends, tho. I would be more inclined to pure shea butter, such as L'Occitone, again just a dab on ends. Prods. containing shea seem to be good also. The best sun/element protection is hats/scarves, although I have a couple prods. w/sunscreen. Sunscreen "wears off" also, must be reapplied, hence the hats.

I'm glad to hear you got your hair fixed whirlerz! I bet you feel better. I've enjoyed reading people's posts on hair care- I try to keep up since mine is damaged and the damage shows more when it's long like mine.

Thanks, CC. Appreciate it. Definately worth it to take care of da hair. Next step: trim ends, which I know how to do.

Awww yay! I know how choked you were about them screwing with your hair...glad to see i'ts on the road to recovery.
I've seen some scary botched hair (aka my dark brunette cousin who over bleached her hair with straight peroxide to the point of it breaking off) so I know how stressful it can be.
