Default Am I the only one?

I understand that during pregnancy especially the third trimester you don't loose hair. However, after my two girls I think I'm making up too much for lack of shedding. I think I'm going to go bald. :'(

Obviously I can't stop it, but did anyone else experience this? If so, how did you deal with it?

I have fine hair anyway so I have always taken means to perserve what I have.

I guess I'm looking for someone to relate to. None of my girlfriends or mother has experienced this. In fact they all look at me like I am crazy.

Hahaha.. Hey Girl.. I must let you know that you are NOT the only one. I had my youngest 15 months ago, and my hair is STILL shedding. Apparently, the average person loses 100 hairs a day off their head. Post partum women lose about 500 a day, to make up for all the hair growth and thickness that the gift of pregnancy gave us. Supposedly, my doctor still claims everything is normal, as I still have very very thick hair, but it kills me to even run my fingers through my hair, because a few strands always come out with it!

As much as I'd hate to jump on the Bandwagon, I am seriously thinking about getting the Walmart Hair Pills.. LOL

Sorry to hear about this, dear. Although I have never experienced this/or been preg., my friend lost her hair after her son was born, many yrs. ago. If I remember right, it grew back, but took awhile. When I talk to her soon, I will ask again. I believe it's hormonal, tho. Don't know how to advise you, other than talk to Dr., or look in library/bookstore/internet for info?

An old manager of mine from HS used to lose most of her hair when she was prego. I'm talking BIG bald spots...she'd have to wear hats most of the time!

Son of ah.....don't mention bald spots...I think this is harder for me anyway because I have always wanted masses of long, thick hair. I thought about extensions, but I have heard more bad than good.

Rusty, I think it depends where you go. I've heard Cali is the extension central. I def. would NOT get the glue in ones, (if they still use). The salon I used to go to in IL, I watched this woman do them, she was a genius w/it, & had a huge following from what I understood.

I lost a lot of hair after i had my daughter. I finally asked a stylist about it and she asked me how old my daughter was. apparently this will happen at different intervels as your body balances itself out hormonaly. this can be marked by the age of your child. how, i'm not positive on, but the shedding is very normal. I've clogged up our shower drain on several occasions. My daughter turns two Oct 7 and my hair shedding Hasn't been bad for awhile now. It also helped when I cut 10 inches off. It was well belowwaist level and now it is mid back with a few layers. Also make sure you're taking some multi vitamins!!
