Why do dancers tip the Dj for? ??? I don't get it.
I tip my DJ because he plays what I tell him to, he helps me create my performance on stage, he promotes me on the microphone & turns on the lights that I choose as well as hyping up the crowd during certain pole tricks I do. If he is helping me out, I'm going to take care of him.![]()

You tip the DJ because s/he plays the music YOU like, talks you up to the crowd, and watches out for you. In my club the DJ also walks around the floor as well as the bouncers to make sure you're doing alright during lapdances.
If you don't tip the DJ and all the other girls do, you're pretty much at the mercy of him/her. Not something I'd reccommend, at least for me, music plays a big part in my stage set.
At my club we usually tip the DJ about $1-2 for every lapdance we do.

Ah nice, ok got it now.![]()
Thety are working for us since we are independant contractors we have to pay our own staff. The only money they get is from us.

Yeah, they also create the proper mood in the club.

Thanks for the input girls. Now, what if I bring him a cd so he can play my fav. tune....
Is that a bad idea?
*EDIT* Not that I can't dance to only a certain type of music. Because I basically listen to everything, which is great.
That is not a bad idea. Most of the dancers I know bring their own cd's. Just make sure you are letting the dj know what you are about to play, another girl may use that song. Now, what if I bring him a cd so he can play my fav. tune....

I agree with alot of this, but i would have to ask, what if the dj didnt play what you wanted to hear, but played what the crowd wanted to hear,do you still tip him???Originally Posted by VADEN link=board=25;threadid=13313;start=msg174069#msg17 4069 date=1095017506
Its not what the entertainer wants,or what the dj wants, its whats going to make all the girls the most amount of money with a certain crowd.
If the room is at a certain upbeat music tempo, and you come into the dj booth asking for something totally different, you run the risk of having a dj tell you "no"when you ask for something.
If left up to the entertainers,we would be listening to nothing but slow R/B music or slow tempo songs. Not great for hyping up a crowd or selling alot of beer.Look around the dressing room some time and think about what the girls you work with would dance to if left up to them. :o
You dont tip the DJ for playing the songs you want, you tip him for running the show, for you and for the girls you work with.Since your new,try walking into the booth and asking the dj
"whats gonna rock the friggin house, how can i blow this place up?"
Of course I would, he still promotes me no matter what..what if the dj didnt play what you wanted to hear, but played what the crowd wanted to hear,do you still tip him???
And as far as him playing the music I want, well that's because he knows I'm going to "rock the friggin house"!
